Antioch’s Bill Bowers Memorial pays $5,000 to IMCA Modified winner

ANTIOCH, Calif. – IMCA Modifieds are in the running for a $5,000 top check at Antioch Speedway’s Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2 and 3 Bill Bowers Memorial. 

The Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier pays $2,500 for second, $1,250 for third and a minimum of $200 to start. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods race for $2,500 to win and a minimum of $150 to start, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100. 

Qualifying starts Friday night; last-chance races and the main events fill the Saturday card. 

Entry for car and driver for both the Modifieds and Northern SportMods is $200 and $50 each night for Stock Cars. 

No spectators will be allowed in the grandstand and drivers and crew members must wear face masks when outside their pit area. Gates open at noon both days with racing to follow 5 p.m. hot laps.

Pit passes for crew members are $50 and $25 for kids ages 12 and under. 

Both nights of the Bill Bowers Memorial will be broadcast by FLO Racing. 

Gates open at noon and a practice session for participating drivers is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday. A cornhole tournament, band and barbeque are also planned that evening.

Chadwick, Fraser, Robles come back for seconds at Antioch

By Don Martin II ANTIOCH, Calif. (May 7, 2022) – Kellen Chadwick won the 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event Saturday at Antioch Speedway. This was the second win of the season for Chadwick.  Sean Wilson led the opening lap ahead of Bobby Motts Jr. before the yellow flag waved. On the restart, Terry DeCarlo Jr. made an impressive maneuver on the outside to gain the lead with brother Nick DeCarlo following him into second. DeCarlo Jr. led his younger brother on a lap three restart with Chadwick settling into third. Following the next yellow, DeCarlo Jr continued to lead with Chadwick moving into second on the lap six restart.  Chadwick ultimately made an inside move on the backstretch on lap 17 to take over. Motts started pressuring DeCarlo a little bit for the second position as Chadwick pulled away. Foulger, DeCarlo, win Hall Of Fame Night features at Antioch

By Candice Martin  ANTIOCH, Calif. (Sept. 15, 2023) – Troy Foulger won the 25-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature Friday night at Antioch Speedway. The win in the Bowers Motorsports-owned entry clinched Foulger his third IMCA Modified track championship. This was also his fifth win of the season. Andrew Pearce bolted into the lead from the outside position ahead of Foulger and Anthony Slaney. Foulger pressured Pearce during the first half of the race with Slaney a solid third until he headed pit side on the 14th lap. Foulger made a move around Pearce on the backstretch on lap 17 to briefly gain the lead, but Pearce beat him back to the line to lead that lap.  However, Foulger made a high pass in turn two on the 18th lap to take command. Chadwick, Robles, Ryland share Antioch Speedway spotlight

By Don Martin II ANTIOCH, Calif. (March 19, 2022) – Kellen Chadwick picked up the win in the 20-lap IMCA Modified main event victory Saturday at Antioch Speedway. Threatening skies gave way and allowed racing to take place. Chadwick proved to be the class of the field with a dominant feature performance and a win in his heat race.  Bobby Motts Jr had a front row start and charged into the lead from the get-go. Chadwick moved into second on lap two and made a turn four pass to take the lead on the seventh circuit. Previous winner Nick DeCarlo settled into third on lap 13. Chadwick stretched his advantage to a straightaway in victory. DeCarlo made an outside pass attempt in the final turn but Motts held him off for second.  Jason Robles won the 20 lap IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature.
