Weaver Breaks Through with First Port Royal Sprint Car Victory

PORT ROYAL, Pa. (May 2, 2026) — Lock Haven’s Jeff Weaver completed a steady climb to the top at Port Royal Speedway Saturday night, earning his first River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series feature win at “The Speed Palace” against a strong field of 47 RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars.

Weaver, who has shown speed throughout the season with two heat race wins and a B-Main victory, finally converted that pace into a feature triumph. Starting up front, he led all 20 laps and crossed the line 1.678 seconds ahead of Timmy Bittner of Beech Creek.

After beginning his PASS career in 2018, Weaver spent his early seasons competing primarily at smaller tracks, earning a win at Path Valley Speedway in 2020. He began racing at Port Royal the following year, steadily improving with a 10th-place finish in his second start, a top five the next season, and a third-place run two years ago. Saturday night marked the breakthrough he had been building toward.

The closing laps proved challenging as Bittner, a familiar rival from Clinton County Speedway, closed the gap in traffic. Weaver stayed composed, navigating lapped cars effectively to secure the win.

Bittner’s runner-up finish was his best of the season with PASS and his second consecutive top-five at Port Royal.

Josh Spicer of Julian finished third after a hard-fought battle with Kenny Heffner of Watsontown, a consistent front-runner at Port Royal. Cole Dewease of Fayetteville, fresh off his first IMCA Sprint Car win Friday at Bedford, completed the top five.

Further back, Fred Arnold of Richfield advanced from 24th to 14th, gaining 10 positions. Tim Iulg of Bridgeton, New Jersey, improved even more, charging from 25th to 11th to earn Penns Valley Meat Market Hard Charger honors with a 14-position gain.

PASS heads back to Port Royal this Saturday

(April 18, 2024) – The River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series batting average has dropped to .333 after a second postponement in three 2024 tries, so it’s up to Port Royal Speedway to successfully negotiate with Mother Nature and get things back on track this Saturday night. PASSIMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car teams are set to join 410 sprints and super late models for a sure-to-be-wild, hope-to-be-dry show at Port Royal. This past Friday night’s Spring Sprint Spectacular at Williams Grove Speedway fell victim to soggy conditions and the likelihood of high winds. Just two weeks to the night after injuring his hand in a wicked flip into the trees while heading for a runaway win at Hagerstown Speedway, Austin Reed planted his no. 34 IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car in victory lane after charging through the field to win the 20-lap River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series feature Saturday at Port Royal Speedway. He became the fifth different winner in PASS’s rain-hampered 2024 season, and the win was his eighth with the series and first at Port Royal. Foiled by Mother Nature in its effort to get the season started last weekend, the River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series re-charges and heads to Port Royal Speedway this Saturday for its Silver Anniversary inaugural race. The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car portion of the program will include qualifying events and a 20-lap feature. Nearly a week before the race, 35 drivers had already indicated their intentions of racing, including nine of the top 10 from 2022 points. They include runner-up Austin Reed, third-finishing Doug Dodson, fourth-finishing and two-time former champ Ken Duke and fifth-finishing Kruz Kepner. Pounds Powers to Bakersfield Modified Win

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (May 2, 2026) — Bakersfield’s Brad Pounds advanced from the fourth starting position to capture the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature Saturday at Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway.
