South Texas IMCA Modified Series Ready for Sophomore Season

By J.M. Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (Sept. 23, 2023) – Ahhhh, fall begins, so it’s only in the 90’s instead of over 100. Saturday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified field took the green for Saturday’s Frist Responders Night show at I-37 Speedway with Jared Maupin getting the point pursued by Ryan Doyon, Robert Liese, Greg Dinsmore and Logan Dinsmore. Doyon pressured Maupin for the lead in turns three and four getting the spot on lap four while Greg Dinsmore got third from Liese. Logan Dinsmore followed a lap later to fourth. Coming to the midway point, Greg Dinsmore got by Maupin for second and inched closer and got a good run in after Doyon got caught by traffic. Darrell Boyd and Liese ran side-by-side for fifth until a caution that set up a four-lap shootout. Doyon got off good back under green while Maupin and Logan Dinsmore were side by side for third. Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (March 25, 2023) – And so it begins.  I-37 Speedway, after a “proposed” opening night rain out last week, raised the curtain on the new season with a host of racing on the night’s agenda. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, thanks to Sundowner Performance Diesel, had a $1,000 to win Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifier won by Greg Dinsmore. As the feature roared to life it was Logan Dinsmore taking a look low on his dad Greg for the lead off turn two before a quick yellow. The leader got a good launch on a lap 14 restart green. Logan Dinsmore used the middle groove to get second back from Doyon but his dad had already checked out.  “Finally, we have this car figured out,” said Dinsmore. “We raced it a couple times last year. EDNA, Texas – IMCA STARS Mod Lites can look forward to a warm welcome from fans at Texana Raceway Park. The division makes its debut on the 5/16-mile dirt oval at Edna and runs along with IMCA Modifieds on every weekly program beginning with opening night March 6. The IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season championship night is scheduled for Sept. 25. “We had a local mod lite class with rules that were similar to STARS the last three or four years. We like the competition and entertainment value. These cars are extremely fast on this track and the car count is very good,” Promoter Owen Pittman said. “We jumped on sanctioning the division as soon as we saw the announcement by IMCA.”  “I’m an IMCA fan.
