Bethany Speedway opening night to be rescheduled

BETHANY, Mo. – Mother Nature made it clear for several days that she had no intention of letting Bethany Speedway start the season on May 22. After off and on rain nearly all week, it was impossible to get vehicles in and out of the pit area. But this year, if there are rainouts, all efforts will be put into making that race up at some point during the season.

So opening night will now be June 5. That will be the first of three appearances by Sprint Cars. The United Rebel Sprint Series and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods will be racing in the second race of a two day swing in Northwest Missouri as they will be at US 36 Raceway the night before.

Look for a date to be added to the schedule as soon as Bethany Speedway gets that scheduled.

Sprint Cars always put on a great show at Bethany Speedway. There’s plenty of room to pass and run high on the cushion or work the bottom. With more racing the last few years, the track has changed and has more banking in the corners now, which produces higher speeds and plenty of excitement.

Mark your calendars, June 5, at Bethany Speedway for the most competitive and exciting racing around.

Snyder scores big at Bethany in URSS Budweiser Shootout

BETHANY, Mo. (June 5) – The POWRi Drive to Zero United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing debuted at yet another Missouri facility on Saturday. The $1,000 to win Budweiser Shootout feature event at Bethany Speedway was action-packed with several position changes and it was Lincoln, Neb.’s Stu Snyder claiming victory.   Jacob Dye and Mike Houseman Jr. set the pace for the 25-lap feature. The initial start resulted in hard contact between several cars and Chad Salem flipped into turn one. A complete restart saw Houseman taking off with the early lead, followed by Dye and Snyder. Snyder took over second while Ty Williams began his march forward from ninth starting. Snyder soon went on to take the lead around the bottom with Houseman keeping a steady pace in second. Kyler Johnson moved up to challenge Williams for third while Snyder began stretching the lead. The caution flew with five laps complete. Wright is all right at Bethany

(May 4) – Chris Wright found the right way around Bethany Speedway Saturday night, en route to the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature win.  The field of 21 was slowed by just a single caution. R.J. Dishong took the front early only to see Wright roar past. Wright continued to lead as Coleman Browning challenged both high and low but could not find a way around. As the only yellow flag of the feature flew, Colton Nelson used the restart to his advantage, got by Browning for second and set his sights on the leader. Wright, however, went on to pick up the win with Nelson second and Browning third.  Chad Clancy cruised to the IMCA Modified victory and Steve Starmer got the best of tenacious Carson Masoner for top IMCA Sunoco Stock Car honors.

$5 wristband admission Saturday at Bethany

By Rick Staley BETHANY, Mo, – Bethany Speedway is the place to be this Saturday, June 30 for Toot Toot Family Restaurant and Lounge Night at the Races. A grandstand wristband from US 36 Raceway the night before gets fans grandstand admission at Bethany for only $5. Divisions in action include the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods. Intermission sees a watermelon eating contest for kids and kids at heart with prizes given throughout the crowd. The green flag drops at 8 p.m.
