Ritchie records first Shawano IMCA Modified win

SHAWANO, Wis. (Aug. 18) – Justin Ritchie has won a number of features at Shawano Speedway, but the former late model track champion scored his first IMCA Modified feature Saturday night.

Cautions plagued the start of the event, but once the race got going Tim Rothe took the lead. Ritchie pursued Rothe until lap three when he made an inside pass to take the lead.

As Ritchie led, the action was hot and heavy behind him as Jason Czarapata, Lance Arneson and Wyatt Block all came from deep in the field to battle for second and third. In the end it was Ritchie making his way to victory lane followed by Czarapata, Block, Arneson and Konnor Wilinski.

Mitch Stankowski returned to victory lane after some time away from the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division. Lucas Lamberies raced to his seventh local Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod victory of the year ahead of Tyler Sobiesczyk, who finished a career-best second.

Common foe was childhood cancer as Shawano raced for a reason Saturday

SHAWANO, Wis. (Aug. 1) – On a Saturday night when drivers and fans united at the track to battle a common enemy, childhood cancer, Racing for a Reason again delivered a victory at Shawano Speedway. With donation baskets and silent auction items galore, more than $16,000 was raised while on the track, the action in one word … incredible! A caution on the initial start of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Feature was the only time the yellow flew as the action-packed class lived up to its Too Tough To Tame reputation. While Gary Kasparek took the early lead the racing behind him was what everyone comes to see. Chucky Forstner took the top spot with Jeremy Christians moving to second on lap seven. IMCA Stock Cars are spectacular at Shawano

(June 25, 2022) – Though the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division is known as The Class Too Tough To Tame, it doesn’t always feature a three-wide battle for the lead for nearly half of the race. But Saturday night at Shawano Speedway it sure did with Trent Nolan prevailing for his fourth win of the year. Fresh off an impressive heat race win earlier in the evening, Dylan Stedjee took the lead on lap one. Tyler Wendt pressured Stedjee from the start, pulled alongside the leader on more than one occasion while Kyle Frederick, Nolan and Luke Lemmens joined the battle at the front of the field. Frederick pulled to the outside of Stedjee on lap seven to take the lead. Lemmens quickly made it three-wide for the lead with Frederick and Stedjee. Frederick continued to lead as Lemmens ran second and Nolan moved to third. Teske Triumphs in SportMod Thriller at Shawano Opener

(May 3, 2025) — The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods kicked off feature action with one of the night’s most intense races at Shawano Speedway, where a steady Friday night rain had soaked the infield and left a heavy layer of clay on the legendary half-mile. Thanks to diligent work from the track crew throughout Saturday, the surface was race-ready by nightfall—and Jeffery Teske was ready to capitalize. Teske surged into the lead on lap 2, getting around Michael Springborn early and building a comfortable cushion. That advantage would be tested late as Cole Magnin carved his way into contention, but each time he prepared to make a move, lapped traffic slowed his momentum. 2025 Super Nationals

Prelude, Super Nationals start times adjusted

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 29, 2025) – Due to the increased number of early registrations, officials have elected to move up the daily start times for the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The change will be in effect for all eight days of Super Nationals, including this weekend’s NAPA Auto Parts Prelude to the Super Nationals. All times that were previously published will now be moved up one hour. This includes ticket gate, pit gate, registration/check-in and start times. All event times have been updated on each day’s schedule listing on the MyRacePass app under IMCA Super Nationals.

Braaksma Repeats in Rage 40 at Fayette County

By Ben Deatherage WEST UNION, Iowa (Aug. 23, 2025) — Ethan Braaksma of Newton topped the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified Rage 40 at Fayette County Speedway, pocketing $2,000 for his second straight win in the 40-lap special. The defending race winner added to an already impressive season with his 12th victory of 2025, 10 of them in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Ryan Maitland jumped to the lead at the drop of the green and paced the opening circuits until a lap-seven caution bunched the field. On the restart, Spencer Diercks powered around the high side to take over on lap eight, while Braaksma worked his way into second by lap 12 aboard the Danny Meier and Trent Guest-owned no. 111.
