Ritchie records first Shawano IMCA Modified win

SHAWANO, Wis. (Aug. 18) – Justin Ritchie has won a number of features at Shawano Speedway, but the former late model track champion scored his first IMCA Modified feature Saturday night.

Cautions plagued the start of the event, but once the race got going Tim Rothe took the lead. Ritchie pursued Rothe until lap three when he made an inside pass to take the lead.

As Ritchie led, the action was hot and heavy behind him as Jason Czarapata, Lance Arneson and Wyatt Block all came from deep in the field to battle for second and third. In the end it was Ritchie making his way to victory lane followed by Czarapata, Block, Arneson and Konnor Wilinski.

Mitch Stankowski returned to victory lane after some time away from the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division. Lucas Lamberies raced to his seventh local Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod victory of the year ahead of Tyler Sobiesczyk, who finished a career-best second.

Shawano checkers fly for Stankowski

SHAWANO, Wis. (July 22, 2023) – There were some new faces in victory lane at the legendary half-mile Shawano Speedway Saturday night. Up first was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division and the man of the hour would be Mitch Stankowski as he jumped to an early lead from sixth starting and into the lead by two. Travis VanStraten and Dan Michonski followed in what became a three-car breakaway. Stankowski held his ground, fought off the challenges of his fellow competitors and was not denied as he raced his no. 5 to victory lane. “It’s nice to win and I want to do it again,” he said. “We definitely have a lot of stout competition here.” As the checkered flags flew at the line in the $3,000 to win Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature it was Johnny Whitman, Mike Wedelstadt, Mike Mullen and Konnor Willinski finishing in that order. Arneson treats himself to Shawano checkers

(July 14) – Lance Arneson secured his first IMCA Modified win of the year with a last-lap pass of Wyatt Block when Shawano Speedway celebrated Halloween at the Half Mile on Saturday night. Ageless Jerry Muenster led lap one before his son Eddie made an outside pass to take the top spot. Block raced past Jerry for second by lap five and set his sights squarely on Eddie. Block got underneath Eddie on lap eight to take the lead. Arneson was moving quickly toward the front and as Block took the white flag, Arneson went to the high line and found an advantage. The pair raced door-to-door through turns three and four. Arneson pulled ahead as they approached the checkered flag to score his first win of the year. Ebert graduates to victory lane

By Scott Owen SHAWANO, Wis. (May 26) – It was a day to remember for Jason Ebert. During the afternoon, Ebert walked across the stage as he graduated from Clintonville High School. In the evening, Ebert raced to victory lane in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature at Shawano Speedway, ending Lucas Lamberies’ three-race win streak. Bryce Clements took the early lead while being challenged by Ebert, who was able to make the pass for the lead on lap four. Through the remainder of the race, Ebert was pressured by Kyle Raddant and Lucas Lamberies. Ebert fended off all comers as he scored his first win of the year. Lamberies, Raddant, Jordan Barkholtz, and Jason Jach rounded out the top five. Kevin Feck won his first local IMCA Modified feature while Travis Van Straten was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victor.

Loux Dominates Carolina Sprint Tour Return to Lancaster

(Apr. 4, 2026) — The Carolina Sprint Tour presented by GSR Chassis made its long-awaited return to Lancaster Motor Speedway on Saturday night, bringing a good crop of RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars to “The Big Half Mile” for the series’ first appearance at the track since 2015. Following the redraw, 2025 Kevin Huntley Memorial champion Dillan Baldwin and defending series champion George Loux led the field to green for the 25-lap feature. Loux wasted no time asserting control, jumping to the early lead at the drop of the green flag. The race’s first incident came on lap four when Pennsylvania’s Trevor Gach made contact with the wall in turn four, sending his machine into a dramatic cartwheel before landing back on all four tires. Gach was uninjured, but his night came to an early end. On the restart, Loux maintained command while a fierce battle for second unfolded between Baldwin and Biscuit Williams.
