BRITT, Iowa (July 10, 2026) — Despite more than four inches of rain falling at Hancock County Speedway just two nights earlier, a tremendous effort by the track crew and fair board had the racing surface ready for Friday night’s Hobo Hustle Stock Car Shootout, sponsored by Nutrien Ag Solutions and J & K Mathas Farms.
In the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Colby Fett made it three-wide on the opening laps to take the lead and quickly pulled away from the field. A caution just past the halfway point erased his advantage and brought Kelly Shryock into contention.
Shryock applied heavy pressure once the race resumed before driving past Fett in the closing laps to score his third consecutive Britt Stock Car victory. Fett finished second ahead of Troy Swearingen, while Justin Ades turned in one of the night’s strongest drives by charging from 12th to fourth. Loren Pesicka Jr. completed the top five.
The $1,000 feature also served as a B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational qualifier to be held during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Shryock had already secured eligibility. The Fertile driver earned his fifth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season, with three of those wins coming at Hancock County Speedway.
Mills Muscles Past Meyer in Modified Feature
Nick Meyer controlled the early stages of the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature, keeping Jeremy Mills at bay each time they crossed the flag stand.
Mills continued building momentum before making the winning pass and pulling away for the $1,000 victory. Meyer finished second, followed by Matt Looft, Colby Fett, and Braden Claborn.
The feature was a Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational qualifier to be held during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Mills had already secured eligibility to attempt to qualify. The Clear Lake driver earned his seventh IMCA Modified victory of the season, six of them coming in the Razor Chassis North Central Region, and his first win of the year at Hancock County Speedway.
Nielsen Holds Off Challengers in Hobby Stocks
Brandon Nielsen wasted little time working his way to the front of the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature and never surrendered the top spot.
Nielsen’s victory was his sixth of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region, with two of those wins coming at Hancock County Speedway.
Eric Stanton finished second, while Jeff Fink impressed in his first appearance at Britt with a third-place run. Drew Barglof advanced from 10th to fourth, and Lucas Smith rounded out the top five.
Alec Fett Makes It Two Straight in SportMods
Alec Fett collected his second consecutive Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature victory at Britt after tracking down early leader Josh Appel.
Fett’s victory was his fourth of the season, with two of those wins coming at Hancock County Speedway.
Appel settled for second, while Jake Simpson put together one of the night’s best charges by advancing from 11th to third. Dustin West crossed the stripe fourth, followed by Summer Grady.
The event was broadcast live on IMCA TV. Catch every lap again with the IMCA TV Replay Subscription, available for just $25.99/month. And don’t miss Season 2 of the Boone Docuseries, streaming exclusively on IMCA TV.
