SELINSGROVE, Pa. (June 12, 2026) — A car doesn’t need fancy graphics to be fast, and Jarrett Cavalet proved that point Friday night by driving an unlettered RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car to victory in River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series action at Selinsgrove Speedway.
The Hollidaysburg driver arrived at the track after spending the week rebuilding his car following a crash while battling for the lead the previous Friday.
Cavalet showed speed from the outset, leading every lap of his heat race from the pole position. In the feature, however, he had work to do after starting fourth.
He quickly advanced to second and spent the opening 10 laps shadowing pole sitter Josh Spicer. The pair put on one of the night’s best battles, often racing side-by-side with Cavalet never more than three-quarters of a second behind the leader.
On lap 11, Cavalet used momentum from the outside groove to drive around Spicer in turns one and two. Once out front, Cavalet faced continued pressure as Spicer refused to let him pull away. The two drivers searched for speed on different lines around the speedway, with no more than six-tenths of a second separating them for much of the remaining distance.
The feature was slowed twice. Current RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car national and Pennsylvania state points leader Timmy Bittner exited with a broken driveshaft, while reigning PA Sprint Series champion Kruz Kepner suffered broken radiator mounts.
Kepner’s misfortune occurred with just one lap remaining as Cavalet and Spicer were once again battling side-by-side. Following the restart, the pair resumed their duel, with Cavalet edging Spicer by approximately half a car length at the checkered flag.
The victory was Cavalet’s second career PASS triumph and his first since winning at BAPS Motor Speedway in August of 2024.
Chris Dolan of York advanced from eighth to third and earned the Len Krautheim Auto Sales Hard Charger Award. Dolan’s podium finish was his second top-five result in as many weeks. Cole Dewease of Fayetteville finished fourth, while Dustin Young of Danville rounded out the top five.
