INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (Apr. 21, 2026) — A Tuesday night full of exciting racing at Independence Motor Speedway saw John Oliver Jr. take home the victory by the smallest margin of the night in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, edging Kodey Miles by just 0.051 seconds.

Kodey Miles took the lead early, with Tanner Allen and Tom Schmitt in pursuit. Oliver began working the low groove as the duo in front of him battled for second. Schmitt moved into second while Oliver continued to work underneath him. With a couple laps to go, Oliver closed in on Miles for the top position and, as the checkers waved, took the win.

It was the first win of 2026 for the West Burlington veteran in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region after starting fourth. Miles and Schmitt finished second and third, while Gage Neal and Tanner Allen completed the top five.

Kolin Hibdon dominated the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds. Hibdon quickly pulled away as Joel Rust moved into second, and the pair began to distance themselves from Jerry Flippo. Ethan Braaksma and Spencer Diercks worked into the top five by the halfway point. Braaksma later moved into third as the leaders navigated lapped traffic. Hibdon took the checkers first, with Braaksma and Rust rounding out the top three. Diercks was fourth, followed by Troy Morris III.

Hibdon, now residing in Waterloo by way of Pahrump, Nevada, recorded his second win of the season and first in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. His other victory came on Valentine’s Day at Mohave Valley Raceway during the Bill and Shirley Meyer Showdown.

The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks saw Karter Miles in victory lane. Zach McNeese led early, while Miles and Carson Butt battled for second. Leah Wroten moved into fourth by the halfway point as the lead trio pulled away from the field in lapped traffic. With three laps to go, a late caution bunched the field, and Briar Kriegel worked into the top five. Miles took the win, followed by Butt and Kriegel. Joren Fisher advanced from 21st to finish fourth, with Wroten fifth. Miles, from Bernard, started fourth and earned his first win of the year in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region.

Cresco’s Cole Suckow was victorious in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods. Will Wolf led early, with Ben Chapman moving into second and Aiden Gelner in third. The leaders reached lapped traffic quickly as Chapman closed in on Wolf. By halfway, Suckow had worked into third, with Tony Olson in fourth. A late caution reset the field, allowing Chapman to take the lead, but Suckow capitalized on the restart to move into the top spot. Austin Kemp worked into the top four as the laps wound down. Suckow crossed the line first, followed by Chapman and Kemp. Jackson Carey and Olson completed the top five.

Suckow started seventh and recorded his fourth win of the year, adding to victories at Central Arizona Raceway during the IMCA TV Winter Nationals in January, Deep South Speedway during the IMCA TV Clash On The Coast in February, and at RPM Speedway’s Sunflower Classic in March.

Dyllan Bonk of Hannibal, Missouri took top honors in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. Tyler Fiebelkorn led early as Bonk moved into second. Stephen Randall ran third while Mike Peyton and Kaden Shannon battled for fourth. Bonk eventually took over the top spot and pulled away from the field. Drew Stanek moved into fourth in the closing laps. Seventh-starting Bonk earned his first win of 2026, followed by Stanek and Fiebelkorn. Peyton and Devin Coghlan rounded out the top five.
