ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 14, 2024) – Brandon Beckendorf was the third and final leader in the Jeff Rucks Memorial event for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds at Arlington Raceway Saturday night.

Trent Loverude started on the pole and Clint Hatlestad who started in the second row, moved right to the front with him by the eighth lap, Hatlestad was the leader but only for two laps as Loverude retook the position.

A yellow came out for a spinning car and on the restart, Hatlestad was in second behind Loverude once again but the 10th starting Beckendorf was also in the mix. Three laps later, Beckendorf put the pressure on and as they were coming in for the white flag, it was Beckendorf leading the pack.

He held on for the $1,000, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying win with Loverude taking second, Hatlestad in third and Dalton Magers fourth.

Jonathan Schroeder was the first lap leader in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature but by the second time around, Brett McConnell was at the point. He was challenged by Ben Davis and Chad Volk but a yellow flag came out and McConnell went to the work area.

He rejoined the field but two laps later went into the pit area. The race was then controlled by Cory Probst, who led the remaining laps to win. Brad Becker got around Chad Volk and Jordan Robinson but wasn’t able to get by Probst and settled for second.

The entire Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact race was led and won by Gary Grabill who started on the front row. Alan Lahr took second and Gary Schumacher took third, gaining six positions in the race.

Justin Allen starting on the pole, took off and had a great lead in the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature but a second lap yellow was thrown when Hannah Graf got loose going into turn two and both Kyla Anderson and Andrew Allen had to stop, causing a restart.

Allen again took off but Bill Johnson was right behind him and gaining ground lap by lap. Behind them were Matt Johnson and Brett Allen, exchanging spots throughout the race.

Another yellow came out on lap seven when Bruce Allen experienced throttle issues. On the restart, Bill Johnson was able to motor past Justin Allen and take over the lead. Matt Johnson and Brett Allen were again battling each other but in the end, Bill Allen won the race with Matt Johnson second and Brett Allen third.

Charlie Rustman led the first five laps of the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature. By lap six, 10th starting Matt Looft was up to the front and was able to take dive past Rustman for the lead.

After five more laps, Matt Hollerich also got by Rustman and was gaining on Looft but was also contending with Ben Reierson for the second spot. As the white flag came out, Reierson was in second but couldn’t catch Looft as he took the checkers first.

Reierson finished ahead of Hollerich and Rustman held on for fourth.

The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature saw 26 cars start the feature with side-by-side, three- and four-wide racing throughout and Luke Trebelhorn led every lap except the one that counted.

Throughout three yellow flags, Matt Speckman was able to move forward lap by lap, and by lap 10 he was in second following Trebelhorn. The two were side-by-side several laps with Shaun Bruns sandwiched between them.

As the white flag came out, they were all going into turn four together and Bruns was able to get below Trebelhorn and win the race by inches at the finish line to make for an exciting ending. Trebelhorn took second ahead of Speckman.
