ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 24, 2024) – A fast track provided great racing action Saturday night at Arlington Raceway.

There were three different leaders in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Shaun Bruns led the first 13 laps with Josh Larsen on his tail. Bruns and Tim Pessek then dueled multiple laps with Bruns falling back, Pessek taking over the lead and Dave Moriarty moving up a couple spots to challenge.

A yellow flag came out for a spinning car on the 17th lap. On the restart, Moriarty took the lead and remained in front to win his first feature of the year. Pessek took second but was docked two spots in post-race tech. That gave second place to Matt Looft and third to Dan Eckblad.

Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts saw a new car in victory lane with Zach Vande Kieft having a solid lead over Justin Dose in his drive to the checkers. Alan Lahr held on for third place.

The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature also ended with a new car in victory lane.

Neil Stevens made a comeback after blowing up an engine earlier in the season. He led the race from start to finish with a commanding distance between himself and Bill Johnson. Kyla Anderson was slicing and dicing the entire race passing cars and ended up third behind Johnson.

The IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks again saw a battle between father Dan Probst and son Cory Probst, this time over the final four laps of the race.

Ben Davis had bee the early leader but after an early restart, Cory Probst was able to take charge, fending off numerous challenges the next eight laps until Davis had troubles and fell back, giving second place to Dan Probst.

The elder Probst was not able to overcome Cory and settled for second ahead of Jordan Robinson.

The Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature saw Joey Reimers with an eighth of a track lead ahead of Looft before a caution came out with three laps left.

Looft was able to get around Reimers coming out of turn two to take the lead and go on to win. Reimers held on for second ahead of Jeff Carter.

The first lap of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature was led by Paul Burger.

Chad Porter was running second when a yellow came out for a spinning car. On the restart, Porter took over the lead and led the entire rest of the distance. Clint Hatlestad, who had started seventh, moved up to second but wasn’t able to catch Porter. Third went to Trent Loverude.
