BOONE, Iowa (July 13, 2023) – The same great sponsors return to support the same great class at the second annual great event for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at Iowa’s Action Track.
Stock Cars run for $2,500 to win and a minimum of $250 to start at the Fox Welding/Vermeer King of the Katwalks presented by VanEaton Pork next Saturday, July 22 at Boone Speedway.
Total purse for King of the Katwalks is nearly $14,000 with the winner becoming eligible to qualify for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational.
The runner-up earns $2,000 with $1,500 paid for third, $1,000 for fourth, $750 for fifth, $500 for sixth, $450 for seventh, $400 for eighth, $350 for ninth and $300 for 10th. Tow money is $75.
Pit passes are $30 and there is no entry fee for the draw/redraw show, to be broadcast by IMCA.TV. Rounding out the program will be Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, Iowa State and track points will be awarded. Twenty-four cars qualify with provisionals awarded to the top two non-qualifying drivers in weekly points at Boone.
Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $5 for teens and free for kids ages 12 and under.
“The inaugural King of the Katwalks lived up to its billing with Kaden Reynolds getting the win and drivers from as far away as Oregon competing,” noted IMCA President Brett Root. “It’s great to be able have a one-day event of this magnitude with no entry fee leading up to the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.”

Fox Welding and Vermeer are located in Greenfield, VanEaton Pork in Orient.
