IMCA Stock Cars chase $750 check Friday at US 36

(July 30) – After a heartwarming opening ceremony set the stage for US 36 Raceway’s Joe Crist Memorial, Travis Barker went home with the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win and $2,062. Barker, already eligible to qualify for the B & B Chassis All-Star Invitational, and Conner Masoner started on the front row and set the pace for the star-studded event.  Barker got the lead and saw Shadren Turner charge by and slide past, but not for long as Barker held the high line to perfection and drove back by Turner.  As Barker paced the field, Chad Clancy worked his way toward the front to challenge for the lead, pressuring Barker to make a bobble. Racing was fierce as throughout the field as Kasey Ayers challenged the frontrunners. Doug Keller was in contention all night as he, J.J. Baumli and Ayers battled. By Rick Staley OSBORN, Mo. (May 20, 2022) – A pair of defending IMCA national champions were Central Auto Racing Boosters Night winners Friday at US 36 Raceway. IMCA STARS Mod Lites kicked off the evening with side-by-side racing throughout the pack of contenders. Defending national champ Dillon Raffurty swept the night, winning both his heat race and the feature. It wasn’t easy in the feature as Raffurty worked from the back of the field to take the lead at the halfway point and never looked back. Jeff Raffurty led early and battled with Kyle Guy until Guy made his move to finish second in the closing laps, moving Jeff Raffurty to third.  The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars saw Jay Russell dominate, winning both his heat and the feature. Russell set the pace after battling early with Jacob Dye and Jack Potter until Dye took a tumble down the front straight, bringing his night to an end. (Aug. 26, 2022) – After a race that saw a little bit of everything, fans at US 36 Raceway saw rookie Greg Marrant in victory lane, celebrating his Friday night Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact win.  The 4-cylinder feature saw speed, wheels flying off, smoke and action from green to checkers. Heat winner Jason Teel took the front and battled Brad Mick and Marrant as the three broke away from the field.  Teel continued to lead until his right front wheel came off on turn four, bringing his hopes of a win to an early end. Marrant and Mick made contact, bringing out the yellow and sending both drivers to the rear on the ensuing restart.  Payton Teel then took the lead only to see Marrant charge back by taking the lead and the win. Marrant celebrated in Nextran Victory Lane as Mick finished second and Teel third.
