Lamberies leads the way at Outagamie

 SEYMOUR, Wis. (June, 7) – Benji LaCrosse was the class of two fields, scoring wins in the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at Outagamie Speedway powered by Eastern Wiscon­sin Stock Car Racing.  Justin Ritchie jumped to the lead from his front row starting spot in the Modified main. La­Crosse quickly raced to second and set his sights on Ritchie.  With both drivers working the top groove, LaCrosse was forced to the bottom. Lap after lap, LaCrosse gained ground, eventually pulling even for the top spot.  With five laps remaining, LaCrosse took the lead from Ritchie and never looked back, scoring a popular win. Ritchie had his best run of the season to place second.    Kurt Olson led the first six laps of the Stock Car feature until Chaz Van Ooyen raced by for the top spot. (June 2, 2023) – Fresh off a heat race win, Wyatt Block looked to be the man to beat early in Friday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Outagamie Speedway. Last week’s winner Johnny Whitman joined the battle for the top spot before the midway point but with both drivers running the same line, Block was in control. That all changed once Block hit lapped traffic and had to move around the track. Once Block was deep in traffic, Whitman threw a slider in turn three, pinning Block behind a lap car. Whitman took over the top spot and dominated the remainder of the event. Block had to settle for second, Konnor Wilinski took third and fourth went to Lucas Lamberies.   It’s not over till it’s over and that was the case in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods feature, a thriller between Corey Kemkes and Brady Harshbarger. There were 27 IMCA Modifieds, 33 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, 37 Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and 29 Mach-1 Sport Compacts checked in and Wyatt Block Jr. and Marcus Yarie traded the lead early. Yarie was able to work the high side, gaining enough momentum to pull away from Block. Cautions kept the field bunched, allowing Block and LaCrosse each to mount a challenge. LaCrosse set his sights on Yarie with five to go. With Yarie running the top side, LaCrosse began to peek his nose down low under the leader. With one lap remaining, Yarie changed to the low groove as LaCrosse went sailing by up top for the win and a clean sweep of the night. Yarie has to settle for second, Block was third, Justin Ritchie ran fourth and Cody Schroeder completed the top five.
