Foulger, Pearce, Chadwick are IMCA winners at Antioch

ANTIOCH, Calf. (Aug. 27, 2022) – Troy Foulger won the 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event Saturday night at Antioch Speedway. This was the third win of the season for the multi-time champion aboard the Bowers Motorsports-owned Modified. 

Jeff Browne had a front row start and took the early lead ahead of Terry DeCarlo Sr. and Brian Cass. DeCarlo spun, collecting three others for a yellow flag. Browne led Foulger and Cass on the restart.

Foulger was giving Browne lots of pressure until he made an inside pass on lap eight to gain the lead. Nick DeCarlo slipped past Browne for second and challenged Foulger the rest of the way.

However, Foulger prevailed at the checkered flag. Kellen Chadwick made a last-turn pass on Cass for third as Bobby Motts Jr. ended up fifth.

Chadwick picked up his first 20-lap IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win of the season aboard the Rich Quadrelli-owned entry.

Looking to get back into the win column, Jason Robles took the early lead ahead of Dave Hill. Chadwick slipped into second on lap three and started pressuring Robles immediately.

Top rookie Jason Jennings settled into third. As the leaders hit slower traffic on lap 18, Chadwick used his momentum to make a move on the outside, taking the lead from Robles on lap 19. Travis Dutra made a move into third on the same circuit and Chadwick was the happy winner ahead of Robles, Dutra, Jennings and Dan Gonderman.

Andrew Pearce won the 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main event. This was his first at Antioch and third overall this season. 

Jason Ryan Jr. took the early lead ahead of Tyler Browne, who grabbed the lead following a lap four restart.

Kenny Shrader briefly moved into third on lap 11 and Pearce took second on a lap 12 restart. Pearce made an inside pass on the backstretch on lap 13 to take the lead from Browne with Shrader making the move around Browne for second a lap later.

Pearce went on to victory ahead of Shrader, Browne, Fred Ryland and Jacob Mallet Jr.

Inaugural California IMCA Modified Speedweek dates announced

By Ben Deatherage  MERCED, Calif. – Something exciting is around the bend in the California IMCA Modified scene. Doug Lockwood, promoter at Merced Speedway, has put together the first-ever Modified Speedweek in the State of California.  The series will race from Monday, Aug. 10 to Saturday, Aug. 15 at six different racetracks in as many nights.  The racing extravaganza will be open to both IMCA Modifieds and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods. Each race will feature a 20-car main event for $1,000 to win and $50 to start for the Modifieds while SportMods will race for $600 to the winner and $40 to start. Modified features are Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events. Point funds will be up for grabs in both divisions, with $1,000-$400-$200-$100-$100 shares being paid in the Modifieds and $600-$300-$200-$100-$100 shares paid in the SportMods. Foulger a double winner while Shrader scores in IMCA SportMod at Antioch

By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (July 8, 2023) – Troy Foulger won the 25-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature Saturday night during Antioch Speedway’s eighth annual Hetrick Memorial. Already Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible, Foulger took home $1,250 on this occasion. Foulger drew the front row for the feature race but Josh Combs jumped into the early lead. Following a yellow flag on lap two, Foulger bolted into the lead with Kellen Chadwick in tow. Bobby Hogge then settled into third before making an inside pass in turn four on lap five to take second from Chadwick. Foulger saw his lead erased by a lap nine yellow flag and had to deal with multiple cautions over the next half-dozen laps, but beat Hogge on each ensuing restart. Green flag flies Wednesday for IMCA Central California Clash 

ANTIOCH, Calif. (May 1, 2023) – Wednesday night is opening night for the fourth annual IMCA Central California Clash.  Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $750 to win and B & B Racing Chassis All-Star qualifying eligibility, and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods for $750 to win each night of the May 3-7 tour.  Following the opening night show at Antioch Speedway are dates Thursday, May 4 at Merced Speedway; Friday, May 5 at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford; Saturday, May 6 at Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway; and Sunday, May 7 at Bakersfield Speedway.
