Bullring Nationals slated for United Rebel Sprint Series

LaCROSSE, Kan. – Competitors with the Drive to Zero POWRI United Rebel Sprint Series presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing are preparing for Rush County Speedway’s Bullring Nationals.

The United Rebel Sprint Series will be in competition on Friday, July 30 and Saturday, July 31 atop the action-packed bullring located in LaCrosse, Kan. This race is always a favorite amongst drivers and fans as the action is non-stop on the ¼-mile Bullring. 

On Friday, July 30, hot laps will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the green flying over competition at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $15 for adults, kids ages 5-10 $5 and kids under five free. 

On Saturday, July 31, hot laps are again slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. IGeneral admission will remain the same for Saturday’s event. 

The United Rebel Sprint Series partnered with Kansas’ Drive to Zero program to offer a $5,000 pay day to the 2021 series champion. The Drive to Zero program was designed with one goal in mind – to reduce fatalities and serious injuries that occur on Kansas highways – targeting child passenger safety, impaired driving, texting, and seat belt violations.

Snyder scores big at Bethany in URSS Budweiser Shootout

BETHANY, Mo. (June 5) – The POWRi Drive to Zero United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing debuted at yet another Missouri facility on Saturday. The $1,000 to win Budweiser Shootout feature event at Bethany Speedway was action-packed with several position changes and it was Lincoln, Neb.’s Stu Snyder claiming victory.   Jacob Dye and Mike Houseman Jr. set the pace for the 25-lap feature. The initial start resulted in hard contact between several cars and Chad Salem flipped into turn one. A complete restart saw Houseman taking off with the early lead, followed by Dye and Snyder. Late night call seals the deal for URSS opener at Salina

By David Smith, Jr., OKTidbits  SALINA, Kan. – It has been a bustling 24 hours for Lucas Oil POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing president Rick Salem. After thinking the upcoming Memorial Weekend of racing would not happen after the event at Oberlin Speedway was canceled, a late-night phone call from Salina Speedway owner Tommie Hendrickson and Chris Sutton wanting to bring in IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars for a Memorial Weekend special, both parties came to terms and the series will open the 2020 race season at the speedway this coming Saturday, May 23.  Originally a $700 to-win event, contributions and support from Missouri’s Mike Sosebee, Steve Hilker of Hilker Trucking and Austin McLean Motorsports now has this event paying $1,000 to-win and $200 to start. Bubak collects Bob Salem Memorial checkers

OBERLIN, Kan. (Aug. 18) – Jake Bubak continued his winning ways in United Rebel Sprint Se­ries action Friday, topping the 25-lap feature Saturday at Oberlin Speedway’s Bob Salem Memo­rial. The win was good for $700. Bubak took charge from his outside front row starting spot from the onset and began stretching his lead, Jake Martens wrestled second from Mark Walinder on lap four and began the pursuit of Bubak in earnest. Bubak proved he was the master through lapped traffic in the caution-free event as he captured his third feature of the year with the URSS and Martens settled for second. Third went to a rim-riding J.D Johnson as he passed both Jeremy Huish and Zach Blurton coming out of turn four to the checkers. Blurton beating Huish to line as he was caught behind a lapped car. Johnson’s bold move earned him the Keizer Wheels hard charger award as he had started 13th.
