Yarie, Schmidt, Christians cruise to Shawano wins

SHAWANO, Wis. (June 5) – While last week was the unofficial start to summer, the weather took a
week to catch up. Marcus Yarie, Jeremy Christians and Jayden Schmidt all beat the heat and their respective
fields to find victory lane Saturday at Shawano Speedway.

The IMCA Modifieds saw Yarie power past Marcus Hoeppner and Kevin Feck
in the early laps to grab the top spot. Behind Yarie, Wyatt Block was
trying to get into the battle for his second straight feature win as
he got by Feck for the runner-up spot as Hoeppner slipped to fourth.

Jordan Bartz charged to fifth but ran out of laps in
the quest for more. 

Christians decided he’d be the one to steal
the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car spotlight. Christians motored to the front early and never looked
back as he picked up another win in The Class Too Tough To Tame. Travis Van Straten secured the runner-up spot, getting by Chucky Forstner and Kyle
Frederick.

Forstner took third with Frederick fourth.
Dan Michonski overcame mechanical issues in his heat race
to take fifth.

And in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, Teagan Wudstrack jumped out early as Jeffrey Teske and Matthew Radtke tried to best each other for second.

As Teske
and Radtke were trying to settle things, Schmidt joined the battle and
grabbed second, then began to
track the leader.

A few laps later, Schmidt pounced and took the leadfrom Wudstrack. Schmidt would not relinquish the lead, picking upanother win. Teske was second while Tyler Sobiescyk cutthrough the field to third with Radtke fourth. Wudstrack settledfor fifth.

IMCA Modifieds to headline Shawano’s July 24, 25 Mid-Summer Classic shows

SHAWANO, Wis. – The two-day show coming up this weekend at Shawano Speedway is guaranteed to be a Classic. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,150 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berths at Mid-Summer Classic shows Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25.  IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars chase $1,000 top checks while Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods race for $600 to win both nights.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and KMJ Performance, but no track points will be awarded. There is a $30 draw fee each night for Modifieds and Stock Cars.  Pit gates open at 3 p.m., the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m.  Modified drivers get another shot at putting their name on the All-Star ballot at Shawano’s $1,200 to win Racing For A Reason childhood cancer benefit on Aug. 1.

Lamberies rules Shawano IMCA Modified main

By Joe Orsini SHAWANO, Wis. (May 27, 2023) – Former track champion Lucas Lamberies reigned in Saturday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Shawano Speedway. The main event saw ageless wonder Jerry Muenster start on the pole. When the green dropped, though, outside polesitter Nicholas Holtger launched into the early lead while Jeremie Hedrick put his familiar C19 machine into the runner-up spot. That lead duo set the pace for the first nine laps until caution flew, restacking the field. The ensuing restart had Holtger lead Hedrick, Jordan Bartz, Lamberies and Marcus Yarie back to racing speeds. Lamberies and Bartz wasted no time and worked to the front, where they traded the top spot back and forth with each driver having to run low or high in the door-to-door scrap. Lamberies eventually locked up sole possession of the lead and held on when the double checkers flew. Opening night checkers at Shawano fly for Christians, Schmidt, Mullen

SHAWANO, Wis. (April 17) – Welcome sights on opening night at Shawano Speedway included a nearly packed grandstand and 111 cars checking in to the pit area.  Eric ‘Chummy’ Arneson would return to racing action at the speedway in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car divi­sion and would battle through caution the opening laps to take the lead on lap four, powering past the Chucky Forstner machine and bringing Jeremy Christians along with him.  Arneson and Christians were joined by Kevin Hebbe in the top three before numerous cautions set up a final lap shoot out that found Christians jumping past Arneson to pick up another feature win. The constant throughout the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod event was defending track champion Jayden Schmidt leading the pack.
