ALGONA, Iowa (May 13) – Once George Nordman got the lead there was no catching up Thursday night at the Thunderdome.
Justin Raymond and Alex Smith brought the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature field to the starting line and Raymond was the early leader in the 15-lapper at Kossuth County Speedway.
Nordman wrestled his way to front and never gave it up, holding off last week’s winner Matt Looft for the win. Alec Fett finished third as Colby Fett took fourth and Jared Boumeester rounded out the top five.
The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars put on their usual entertaining show as Derek Green had to hold off a late run from hard-charging Kelly Shryock to win the feature. Cody Nielsen came across the stripe in third as Chad Palmer was fourth with Donovan Smith placing fifth.
The IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature went to Brandon Nielsen, who had started on the outside of third row. Josh Sidles, Carter Koop, Dylan Fitzpatrick and Chris Krug were the top five finishers.
Jeff Feaster and Mat Hollerich led the IMCA Modifieds to the flag stand as Cody Knecht earned his first feature win of the season with Shryock finishing second. Feaster ended up in third with Tim Ward taking fourth and Jayden Larson fifth.
Kaytee DeVries repeated in the Mach-1 Sport Compacts, taking the checkers ahead of Jade Lange, Tyler Fielbelkorn, Arianna Prothman and John Holt.
