$250 Sunoco bonus moves to Pepsi Lee County Speedway this Friday night

By Brian Neal  DONNELLSON, Iowa (April 12) – Jeff Waterman began his pursuit of another Lee County Speedway track title with the opening night IMCA Modified feature victory.  Friday’s 20-lap Budweiser IMCA Modified main saw Dennis LaVeine and Dakota Simmons draw the front row. LaVeine took advantage of his spot to jump out into the lead over Andrew Schroeder and Simmons.  Schroeder looked under LaVeine over the next five laps, before the first caution of the race appeared. On the restart, LaVeine jumped back out front with Waterman, who started ninth, coming from fifth to second.  While LaVeine worked the bottom of the track, Waterman used the top to try and wrestle the lead away. Coming off turn four on lap nine, Waterman used his momentum off the top to edge LaVeine at the line to take over the top spot.  Waterman maintained his advantage following a lap 10 restart as Schroeder and LaVeine battled for second. By Brian Neal  DONNELLSON, Iowa (April 26) – Bill Roberts Jr. became the third different IMCA Modified winner at Lee County Speedway this season Friday night. In and out of the lead in the 20-lap Budweiser IMCA Modified feature, Roberts saw John Oliver Jr. use his high side momentum coming off turn four to edge ahead coming to the white flag.  The two raced through turns one and two and down the backstretch side-by-side. Oliver drifted a little high coming off turn four to get the checkers, which allowed Roberts to go under him for his first win of the season at the track.  Jeremy Pundt was the Donnellson Tire & Service IMCA Stock Car winner and Daniel Fellows was first in the Roberts Tire Center IMCA Northern SportMod main. Brandon reu topped the Discount Tire & Service IMCA Sport Compact feature.

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (May 13, 2022) – The calendar might have said it was Friday the 13th, but that didn’t slow action at Lee County Speedway, where the six-class racing program was completed in just a little over three hours.  The 20-lap IMCA Sunoco Late Model feature had Darin Weisinger Jr. and Sam Halstead leading the field to green. Weisinger led lap one over Halstead and C.J. Horn.  Horn followed in Weisinger’s tire tracks around the bottom while Tommy Elston tried the top and middle to get around the lead duo. Weisinger was able to hold both off until lap 16, when Horn got underneath for the top spot. Horn then pulled away over the final laps to pick up the win. Weisinger held off Elston for second. Luke Fraise and Patrick McKasson led the field to green in the 15-lap Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature, with Fraise grabbing the early lead over Chevy Barnes and Brandon Reu.
