Third win for Bowers at U.S. 36

OSBORN, Mo. – Steven Bowers Jr. motored to his third IMCA Modified win of the season at U.S. 36 Race­way Friday night. 

Shayne Bailey jumped to the early lead and would pace the field. Before the first caution of the race on lap seven, Bailey had stretched the gap out comfortably, while Bowers and Chad Andersen started their journey through the field. 

By halfway, both Bowers and Andersen had worked their way into the top five. While Andersen momen­tarily stalled out in the fifth position, Bowers charged up to second and began working different lines trying to find a way around Bailey. As Bowers made his move with five laps to go, the second and final caution of the race flew, keeping Bailey at the point.

On the restart, Bailey earned some breathing room and looked well on his way to Westfall GMC Victory Lane. With two to go, though, Bowers found a little more speed on the cushion and worked around Bailey to pick up his third win of the year at Osborn. Bailey finished second, with Andersen in third.

Two nights of racing this weekend at U.S. 36 Raceway

OSBORN, Mo. – Two big nights of racing are set for this weekend at U.S. 36 Raceway. This Friday, July 3, is the Budweiser Shootout. After two postponements, U.S. 36 has remained persistent in completing the Bud Shootout. The Sprint Series of Nebraska is once again prepared to make its first appearance of the season at U.S. 36 that evening. As part of the event, heat race bonuses are on the line for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars. Winners will receive a $75 bonus. Second in the heats earn a $50 bonus with third picking up a $25 bonus. To complete the show, the IMCA Modifieds and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods will also battle it out on the high banks. 2nd annual IMCA Missouri Nationals Oct. 8-10 at US 36

OSBORN, Mo. – The second annual IMCA Missouri Nationals is set for Oct. 8-10 at US 36 Raceway. The event features the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kus­toms Northern SportMods. The event is also broadcast live on IMCA TV.  Modifieds are racing for $2,000 to win and $200 to start their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational balloting qualify­ing main event on Saturday. The Friday qualifier pays $400 to win and $100 to start. Sprint Cars also pay $2,000 to win and $200 to start Saturday and $400 to win and $100 to start the qualifier on Fri­day.  Stock Cars pay $1,700 to win the Saturday main event and $100 to start. The Friday qualifier pays $300 to the winner and $80 to start. The SportMods have $1,500 on the line on Saturday and $80 to start. Big paydays for IMCA winners Friday at US 36

OSBORN, Mo. – Big paydays are in Friday, June 18 race night plans at US 36 Raceway. IMCA Modifieds run for $1,100 to win and a minimum of $125 to start their Modified Madness main event. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods chase a top check of $1,066 and $100 to start their Wayne Hicks Memorial show, and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start their Doyle Lance Remembrance Race.  The Modified feature is a qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and the Stock Car winner becomes eligible to qualify for the B & B Chassis All-Star race. Hot laps are at 7:30 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. at Osborn. Spectator admission is $20 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and free for five and under. The Friday show is presented by Miller Lite St. Joe Beverage.
