BETHANY, Mo. (June 27) – With a new running order every time around the oval, Tim Stallbaumer was the leader of the 15th and final circuit of Saturday’s Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature at Bethany Speedway.

Stallbaumer found his way to the front and never looked back as he picked up the win from the eighth starting spot. Tim Eaton held the lead for a few laps about mid-race and finished second. Steven Clancy and Chris Wright stayed in close contact the entire race and finished third and fourth, respectively. 

The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature started with Mich Ross and Steve Starmer on the front row. From the drop of the green flag for about four laps they stayed side by side with Ross on bottom and Starmer on top.

Starmer adjusted his line to the bottom as the top lost just a little speed after an early caution and followed Ross for a few laps. The top changed as it had very few cars on it for a few laps and Starmer went back up there. While all that was happening, J.J. Baumli was working his way through the field and into third.

Starmer made the cushion work and ran side-by-side the last five laps with Ross. At the check­ers, Starmer drove to the point and picked up his first win of 2020 at Bethany. Ross was a close second with Baumli third.

Steven Bowers also started eighth and worked his way forward in winning the IMCA Modified main. Chad Clancy and Josh Munsen rounded out the top three.

IMCA RaceSaver Sprints call Bethany Speedway new Missouri home

BETHANY, Mo. – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car drivers have had Jon Boller Jr. on speed dial since his announcement the winged division would be new at his Bethany Speedway this season. Ten dates, all but one of them on Saturday nights, are on the 2020 schedule at Bethany. Opening night is April 25 with points racing slated through Aug. 29.  Sanctioned Sprints also run Fridays at the Boller-promoted U.S. 36 Raceway in Osborn. “There’s been a lot of interest by drivers who want to run twice a week,” Boller said. “Bethany is only 15 miles or so from the Iowa state line and there are drivers in the Des Moines area who were looking for a place to run on Saturday nights.” “We want to continue building the division and giving those drivers another track to race at 10 nights is one way we can do that,” he continued. Rudolf is best in Bethany SportMod main

By Rick Staley BETHANY, Mo. (April 6) – Chase Rudolf has a Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature win to  show for his first-ever visit to Bethany Speedway. R.J. Dishong used a front row starting position to take the lead and appear to be set for the Satur­day win until a caution bunched the field back up. On the mid-race restart, Rudolf made a daring move on the high side of turn two to take the lead from Dishong.  Rudolf gradually pulled away from the pack and captured the win. Jeffrey Sears moved to the inside of the track and claimed second with Randy Smith Jr. a solid third. Defending champion Josh Munsen was fourth and Colton Nelson battled back from an early race mishap to place fifth. Mike Nichols set a blistering pace and cruised to his second IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Missouri  victory of the weekend. Wright is all right at Bethany

(May 4) – Chris Wright found the right way around Bethany Speedway Saturday night, en route to the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature win.  The field of 21 was slowed by just a single caution. R.J. Dishong took the front early only to see Wright roar past. Wright continued to lead as Coleman Browning challenged both high and low but could not find a way around. As the only yellow flag of the feature flew, Colton Nelson used the restart to his advantage, got by Browning for second and set his sights on the leader. Wright, however, went on to pick up the win with Nelson second and Browning third.  Chad Clancy cruised to the IMCA Modified victory and Steve Starmer got the best of tenacious Carson Masoner for top IMCA Sunoco Stock Car honors.
