Eagle checkers fly for Lovegrove

EAGLE, Neb. (Aug. 3) – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car win number one on the season came Satur­day at Eagle Raceway for Doug Lovegrove.

Lovegrove started on the pole and was quickly out front. Mike Boston passed Chase Weiler for third on lap seven with Adam Gullion moving up to fourth. From there to the finish it was a tale of two different lines with Lovegrove hugging the bottom and Brandon Horton, Boston and Gullion pounding the cushion. 

Lovegrove moved through the lapped traffic and extended his lead at the end to a straightaway with Horton coming home second, Boston third and Gullion fourth.

“It’s been way too long. We’ve been having motor problems all year. This is only the third race I’ve finished this season,” he said. “I’m pretty good around the bottom and it was a good track tonight. I think that’s why I was able to run away a little bit. I got lucky on some of the traffic. The guys decided to run a lane up when I got to them.”

Winning their second local features of the season were Clint Homan in the Hoosier Tire IMCA Modifieds and Shawn Harker in the Sam’s Club IMCA Northern SportMods. 

Jeff Ware recorded another Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock victory while Drake Bohlmeyer was promoted to first in the ATV Motorsports IMCA Sport Compact feature when the apparent winner was disqualified in post-race tech.

Big fields pay off for IMCA drivers at Eagle

EAGLE, Neb. (May 5, 2023) – As it was announced in the pit meeting on April 22, effective immediately, Eagle Raceway will start adding a minimum of $1,000 bonus spread throughout the field of a class of cars if there are 30 or more cars that show up and race at any single event in that class (includes non-qualifiers). Andrews sails from 10th to Eagle checkers

(June 25, 2022) – Matt Andrews went sailing Saturday night, from row five at the start to victory lane following Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main event at Eagle Raceway. Andrews started 10th, snagged the lead with 12 to go and took the checkers ahead of Ryan Argobast and Dana Deeke.  “When you have to start in the back because of the points deal, it’s pretty tough to get to the front. Drivers from across the country, up the road heading to Eagle for IMCA RaceSaver Nationals

EAGLE, Neb. – IMCA Sprint Car teams from across the country and from up the road are already arriving at Eagle Raceway for the Sept. 2-5 RaceSaver Nationals powered by Sunbelt Rentals. “We’ve got all sorts of stuff going on,” Promoter Roger Hadan said this morning. “We’ve already got cars here from North Carolina and Virginia, and we’ve got a car rolling through tech now that’s from a mile up the road.
