US 36 Raceway cancels April 12 program

OSBORN, Mo. – Due to unseasonably cool temperatures and high winds, US 36 Raceway offi­cials have made the decision to cancel racing for Friday, April 12, Season Championship Night number two. 

Track officials had hoped the forecast would improve during the week but temperatures remained too cold and forced them to make the decision to cancel.

Racing will return to the high banks of US 36 Raceway on Friday, April 19. Due to the cancella­tion this week, all weekly classes will be running next week. The E-modifieds were originally sched­uled to have the night off but due to this week’s cancellation, they have been added to the April 19 schedule.

Championship Night number three on April 19 will feature IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, as well as pure stocks and E-modifieds. 

Pit gates will open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand will open at 6 p.m. Hot laps are at 7:30 p.m. and racing is at 8 p.m.

IMCA Stock Car win at US 36 is first for Smith

By Rick Staley OSBORN, Mo. (June 16, 2023) – The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at US 36 Raceway saw side-by-side racing and a first-time visitor to victory lane Friday night. Carson Masoner took the early lead and pulled away from the field with Brad Derry, Matthew Lance and Nate Barnes nipping at his heels. He continued to lead until Randy Smith Jr. found the fast line around the track and took over at the front. Smith, who has won in about everything except an IMCA Stock Car, did not look back nor was he denied in picking up his first-ever feature win in The Class Too Tough To Tame at US 36 Raceway. Lance placed a very close second with Barnes crossing in third. The Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite feature ended with Dillon Raffurty back in victory lane.

Breaking news for US 36 Sprint Car drivers 

By Rick Staley OSBORN, Mo. – Attention all IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car drivers at US 36 Raceway … in a continued effort to get more Sprint Cars at the track, the following changes will take effect immediately: *IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars will pay $650 to win and $250 to start the Feature. *All IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car restarts will now be single file after the initial green flag start, no more Delaware Double File Restarts. *The entry cutoff time for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars will be moved from 7 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. for all those traveling a long distance after work. Track officials will make every effort to accommodate all those traveling and wishing to race at Osborn as US 36 continues to bring back winged Sprint Car racing to the area. Greenwood wins biggest share of IMCA RaceSaver green at US 36

(April 14, 2023) – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars attended from four different states, vying for the big money US 36 Raceway offered Friday night and the top check went home with Iowan Jake Greenwood.  At the drop of the green flag, Jacob Dye jumped to the front and appeared to have the car to beat before lapped traffic came into play and collected the leader, bringing his night to an end. Greenwood took the lead on the next restart and set a blistering pace, telling the other competitors “Catch me if  you can.”  Stu Snyder mounted a charge but could not match Greenwood as Tyler Drueke also moved toward the front. Greenwood never relinquished and pick up his first win on the high banks of US 36 Raceway, celebrating in Nextran Victory Lane. Snyder finished second and the always fast Drueke ended the feature in third.
