Racing canceled for June 5 at U.S. 36, Bud Shootout postponed to June 19

OSBORN, Mo. – Due to overnight rains both Wednesday and Thursday night, track officials have canceled racing for June 5 at U.S. 36 Raceway. The Bud Shootout is postponed to June 19.

The property and track is too wet and with the recently reworked track surface officials want to continue to strive for a smooth racing surface for both drivers and fans.

The Bud Shootout on June 19 will feature the Sprint Series of Nebraska. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will also be in action with the Doyle Lance Remembrance Stock Car Race. Other classes will be announced at a later date. 

Up next at U.S. 36 Raceway is a return to the weekly championship chase, and the racing on Friday, June 12 will feature the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.

Baumli dominates Joe Crist Memorial Stock Car Shootout

By Jacob Blair OSBORN, Mo. (July 26) – J.J. Baumli showed competitors from Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska the fast way around the oval in winning US 36 Raceway’s third annual Joe Crist Memorial Shootout for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars.  Baumli drove away from the field following a restart late in the 30-lapper to pick up the $1,262 winner’s check. Polesitter Thomas Roberts had taken the early lead and paced the first several laps. Baumli worked the bottom of the track before settling into second. After an early caution, Baumli showed his dominance when he perfected the restart and took the lead away from Roberts. Multiple drivers had chances to move around Baumli but his restarts were too strong as the leader put several car lengths between his competitors each time the green flag came back out.  Roberts, Travis Barker and Brad Whitney all had attempts from the second position on restarts and none could figure out how to match Baumli.  Whitney, who started 10th, patiently worked his way to finish second. IMCA Stock Cars in spotlight Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway

OSBORN, Mo. – This Friday, June 26, at U.S. 36 Raceway the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars headline the night with the running of the Doyle Lance Remembrance Race.  The Doyle Lance Remembrance Race pays $700 to win and $100 to start and is using a draw/redraw format. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern Sport Mods are also racing. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. The grandstands open at 6 p.m., with hot laps at 7:30 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m. Tickets for the event are $15 for general admission, $12 for senior and military and children 12 and younger are free. Friday’s IMCA Modified Blowout at US 36 pays $1,500 to win

OSBORN, Mo. – As the season starts to come to a close with only two points nights remaining, US 36 Raceway has a lot going on this Friday, Aug. 2. Headlining the night is the Modified Blowout presented by Lent Prints. IMCA Modifieds are racing for $1,500 to win along with a 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth, while both the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods race for $1,000 to win. The night will also feature Miller Welding Public Safety Night. All public safety workers get free admission to the night’s event. This includes police officers, firefighters, nurses, doctors, EMTs, correctional officers, current military and veterans. US 36 has more to offer as it is also Back to School Night. US 36 will be giving away backpacks of school supplies. School supply donations are being accepted to help fill those backpacks. Several bikes will also be given away.
