Potter – Jack – prevails at US 36

By Jacob Blair OSBORN, Mo. (April 26) – Patience paid off Friday night at US 36 Raceway for Steven Clancy. Nicholas Carpenter took the lead at the drop of the green flag for the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod 15-lapper and paced the first half of the race. During that time, Clancy began to slowly work his way through the field. After starting 10th, Clancy had to pick and choose where to make his passes. A late caution allowed him to close on Carpenter and in turn three Clancy made his move to the point with a few laps remaining.  Clancy then opened up a couple car length lead and made his second trip to Westfall GMC Victory Lane this season. Tim Eaton also had an impressive run, moving up 10 spots to finish second. Carpenter had a moment on the final lap in turn three but was able to make the save and finish third. Last week’s feature winner, Chris Wright, finished fourth and Jeffrey Sears rounded out the top five.

By Rick Staley  OSBORN, Mo. (Aug. 6) – More than $1,000 in change will be dropped on the front stretch of US 36 Raceway for kids to grab tonight (Friday). Bring out the entire family for a night of fun and racing excitement like no other with free loaded backpacks to get the kids ready for back to school.  Always Family First is the theme at US 36 Raceway with fans donating school supplies and Jon and Beth Boller donating the backpacks. Thanks to Matthew and Maggie at X Factor Motorsports, Section B at Lakeside Speedway, fans, TC Fabrication and Repair, Slow Kid Motorsports, Judy Staley Photography and others who donated.  IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods are on tonight’s race program.

By Rick Staley OSBORN, Mo. (Aug. 17) – Chad Clancy was a double winner Friday at US 36 Raceway, topping IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car features. Clancy battled Mich Ross before going the upper hand in the Stock Car show. He went side-by-side and wheel-to-wheel with Richard Spriggs before taking his second checkers of the evening in the Modified main. Matt Lent ran a near-perfect Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main event and the result was his career-first win. Steve Starmer was second while Josh Munsen’s late charge for third. Jack Potter led every lap in winning his first local IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car main event. Drivers wished a happy birthday to Caleb Hammond via live video, and collected stickers as well as more than $1,000 during intermission for the 11-year-old race fan from Oskaloosa, Iowa, bat­tling leukemia.
