LaTour triumphs at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 2, 2023) – The Sibley County IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Shootout at the Arlington Raceway saw a fantastic field of cars and 45 stellar drivers competing for some big paydays. The largest paid out was to Brandon Beckendorf from Danube as he won $9,185 for his driving abilities. He had a clean sweep for the night, winning his heat race and $135 as well as leading every lap of the 30-lap race to earn $135 per lap plus the $5,000 to win top prize. His drawing partner found the right Frisbee as she drew the no. 2 spot, putting him on the outside of the front row of the 24-car field. ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 5) – Chris Plamann was the third and final leader in Saturday’s Premier Lo­gistics IMCA Hobby Stock feature at Arlington Raceway. Colton Burke and Luke Trebelhorn split time up front before Plamann capitalized on a restart, then held off Brad Becker the eight times around the track. A restart also helped open the door for Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMod winner Kevin Kirk, who prevailed in a green, white, checkered finish in front of Jeff Lloyd. Dean Cornelius led from lap three to the finish of the B & B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car fea­ture and traveler Adam Hensel prevailed in the MN 93 IMCA Modified headliner. Chris Graf started 10th and finished first in the 95.7 The Rock IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car main. Sixth starting Alex Dostal captured the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact checkers.

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 6) – Dan Menk was the third and final leader in Saturday’s MN93 IMCA Modified feature at Arlington Raceway.  Troy Gudmonson paced the first circuit before going to the work area with mechanical issues. Joe Roberts ran in front the next two laps with Clint Hatlestad close behind. By the fourth lap, Menk got around both cars and took over the lead position. He held the spot through two cautions to win ahead of Hatlestad and Chad Porter.  Neil Stevens took the lead on the 13th lap en route to the Alpha Media IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car checkers. Racing was often four-wide in the B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car main event.
