PERRIS, Calif. – For the second time in the month of June, the PASSCAR Stock Car Series, featuring IMCA Modifieds, will be at Perris Auto Speedway.

The Saturday, June 30 show marks the start of the second half of the season for the cars at the famous Riverside County 1/2-mile clay oval. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. and the first race will be at 7 p.m.

Cory Sample, who lives in Winnemucca, Nev., and makes the nearly 1,200-mile round trip to Southern California to race at Perris, has a 31-point lead in the IMCA Modified point standings.

Sample, who picked up his second Perris win at the last race on June 2, has only finished out of the top three one time in the first seven races of the year.  That came in May when he finished 11th  after contact with another car.

In the other six races he has two wins, a couple second place finishes and a pair of thirds. Chuck Becker is second in points with Terry Hershberger third.
