NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (April 28) – Perseverance was tested but it was worth the wait for the 2018 Lincoln County Raceway season opener in North Platte on Saturday evening. The heated action was highlighted with the pits being jam packed with competitors looking to start their sea­son off on the right foot in front of a large crowd.

Earning IMCA feature wins were David Murray Jr., Danny Concelman, Mikey Dancer, Jeromy Wagner and Andrew Baumgarder.

No stranger to the winner’s circle, Murray weathered a storm restarts to earn his career 550th IMCA Modified feature victory. Coming from the middle of the pack, Cale Osborn pressured Mur­ray on the final restart, only to be forced to settle for runner-up accolades.

Wasting no time to get to the front, Dancer cruised to the feature win in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division. Dancer started on the outside of the second row, took the lead on the second lap and never looked back.

Grabbing the lead near the halfway point and winning the sprint to the finish was Concelman in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature.

Starting on the pole was a great foundation for success for Jeromy Wagner to earn the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature victory. Wagner paced the field after garnering the point position on the third lap.

It was like a movie story line for Baumgardner in the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature. Baumgard­ner started on the front row and led the first three laps before relinquishing the lead as a result of a flat tire.

After restarting at the rear, Baumgardner zigzagged through traffic to chase down leader Daryl Cauffman on the 12th lap and drive his way to the winner’s circle.

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (March 18, 2024) – Joe Bellm brings his 37 years of promotion expertise to a third track beginning this season, taking charge at Lincoln County Raceway. Five sanctioned divisions, the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts, run at the North Platte, Neb., venue, on eight dates complementary to those at Bellm-promoted El Paso County Raceway in Calhan and Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke, both in northeast Colorado. “We have had North Platte on our radar. Woken wins IMCA Stock Car feature at Lincoln County

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (June 2) – Saying that the competition was fierce would be an understate­ment when watching action at Lincoln County Raceway Saturday night. There were four lead changes in an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature that saw Casey Woken drive from 10th starting to the top of the podium. Andrew Baumgardner also drove from the fifth row to score top Mach-1 Sport Compact honors. Taking advantage of a tacky track, Colton Osborn was the victor in the IMCA Modified feature. Osborn started in the second row and took the lead on the seventh lap as he never looked back on his way to the checkers. Jamey Kennicutt led every lap to earn the win in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main and a see-saw battle in the waning laps of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature went the way of Luke Wassom.

Hodges take Lincoln County championship night honors

(Aug. 3) – Championship night played out in front of a packed house Saturday at Lincoln County Raceway.  Holding off all challenges, Cole Hodges captured the IMCA Modified feature after working his way into contention from a fifth row start position, taking the lead with just five laps remaining and then keeping David Murray Jr. at bay.  Jacob Olmstead led all but the opening circuit in winning another Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod main. Equally dominating, Casey Woken led all from the second lap on to earn the hard-fought IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victory with many heavy hitters trying unsuccessfully to catch up. Starting up front and staying up front, Zach Olmstead won the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. Lonnie Lenser Jr. became the winner of the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature after the apparent top two finishers were disqualified in post-race tech.
