Sabin starts IMCA winners’ parade at Stuart Speedway

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (May 22, 2022) – Kolby Sabin started the parade of IMCA feature winners Sunday evening at Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway. Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts were the first sanctioned division on the speedway with Elijah Hoyt and Mitchell Bunch pacing the field. Hoyt led early with Bunch getting by on lap four. Bunch held the top spot until Sabin cruised by on lap eight.  Tyler Fiebelkorn followed Sabin into second but couldn’t close the deal as Sabin went on to the win. Fiebelkorn finished second with Bunch third. Josh Pruitt and Jeremy Gettler brought the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars out with Gettler getting the advantage early on. Cautions on laps nine and 10 were the only thing slowing Gettler down as he led the distance to take the win. Stuart’s IMCA Stock Car Whole Hog 50 winner earns $5,000; Modifieds, Northern SportMods both race for $1,000 each night

STUART, Iowa (May 24, 2022) – The winner of Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway’s Whole Hog 50 special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars takes home the bacon May 29-30. Top prize is $5,000 while the minimum paid to start the second annual event has been increased this year from $400 to $500. The Whole Hog 50 winner also becomes an automatic qualifier for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational.  Heat races and qualifying features for Stock Cars are on Sunday, with all drivers making an ‘A’ main. Stock Cars will run heat races and last-chance qualifiers to complete their starting grid on Memorial Day.  Friesen Performance IMCA Modified features both days pay $1,000 to win with Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility at stake as well. IMCA STARS Mod Lites have May 27-29 Cornbelt Clash dates

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (May 23, 2022) – IMCA STARS Mod Lites race for $500 to win each night of their Cornbelt Clash tripleheader over the Memorial Weekend. Features Friday, May 27 at Marshalltown Speedway, Saturday, May 28 at Boone Speedway and Sunday, May 29 at Stuart Speedway all pay a minimum of $100 to start. Yoshimura bonuses of $250, $150 and $100 will be paid to top three eligible finishers on Sunday; hard chargers each night also receive a certificate for a STARS plated tire from Hooser. Entry fee is $30 and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded each night. Pit gates open at 5:15 p.m. and racing is at 7:30 p.m. at Marshalltown. Four IMCA features each pay $1K at Stuart’s Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel

STUART, Iowa ­(May 10, 2022) – Drivers in four IMCA divisions are in the running for $1,000 top checks during a rare Monday show at Karl Chevrolet Stuart International Speedway.  The May 16 Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel sees Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods contend in $1,000 to win features.  Modified and Stock Car winners also earn Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility, respectively.  Mach-1 Sport Compacts complete the card. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Pit passes are $30. Ward dominant at Stuart’s Stevens Memorial

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (April 27, 2022) – One hundred and twenty-eight cars were in attendance for the regular season opener at Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway and racers from all around were on hand to honor Tim and Tammy Stevens, an unforgettable driver/race official duo who have both passed on in recent years.  IMCA feature winners for the night were Tyler Fiebelkorn, Brayton Carter, Buck Schafroth, Brandon Cox and Tim Ward. Ward and Dennis Pittman led the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds out for the nightcap with Ward taking control early. A lap two caution was all that stood in Ward’s way as he checked out on the field to take the win. Drew Janssen finished second with Dallon Murty third.  IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks came out with Cox and Steven Crees on the front row. Season number 61 at Stuart starts with Murty Frostbuster photo finish

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (April 10, 2022) – The engines came to life Sunday evening with drivers from all over in attendance for the IMCA Frostbuster finale at Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway.  Brad Whitney and Johnathon Logue led a pack of 25 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars to turn one and it was Logue making it out of turn two with the lead. Damon Murty cruised by on lap three and moved out to a sizeable advantage on the field, but coming from his seventh starting spot was Damon’s son Dallon. The Chelsea Charger and The Game Changer survived a few cautions and Dallon took the lead with two laps to go. Boone, Stuart Frostbusters on for this weekend

BOONE, Iowa (April 6, 2022) – Forecasts are promising for Frostbuster specials this weekend at Boone Speedway and Stuart Speedway. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win along with Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $500 to win, IMCA Northern SportMods for $400 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $250 to win Saturday, April 9 at Boone and Sunday, April 10 at Stuart. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, re­gional and KMJ Performance Iowa State points will be awarded both nights. Mach-1 Sport Compacts are also on the Sunday card at Stuart. Entry fees are $30 for Modifieds, $25 for Stock Cars and $20 for both SportMods and Hobby Stocks. Pit passes are $30. The pit opens at Boone at 2 p.m. and racing is at 5 p.m. Stuart opens the pits at 2 p.m. and starts racing at 4:30 p.m.  IMCA.TV broadcasts the Boone Frostbuster.

Cochrun wins Clint Walrod Memorial

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (July 21) – One hundred and twenty-nine race cars came to the Clint Walrod Memorial at Stuart Speedway. Feature winners for the night were Kaden Cochrun, Lucas Daniels, Izac Mallicoat, Jeremy Gettler, Dylan Nelson, Tim Ward and Braxton Wallace.  IMCA STARS Mod Lites were first up with Mike Zemo Jr. and Nathan Wolfe on the front row. Kaden Cochrun shot into the lead on lap one and through a couple of cautions it was all the 23K as he took the feature win. Josh May made it interesting but came up second with Zemo third, Dillon Raffurty fourth and Jon Padilla fifth. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods came out with Shane Paris and Izac Mallicoat leading the field to green. Mallicoat powered into the lead until the caution flew on lap six. Carter comes up big at Ron Little Memorial finale to Midwest Madness Tour at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (July 1) –One hundred and forty-four race cars came to the 22nd annual Ron Little Memorial and Karl Kustoms Midwest Madness Tour program at Stuart Speedway.  Tim Ward and Todd Shute were out front for the IMCA Modifieds. Shute led early with Cayden Carter blowing by on the bottom side on lap six. A caution on lap 26 bunched the field and gave them a shot at Carter but it was not to be as The Gasman, already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, took the $2,000 win. Kyle Brown finished second with Ward third, Joel Rust fourth and Shute fifth.  Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods saw Bryan Morris and Garrett Nelson on the front row. Morris gets first feature win at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 23) – Bryan Morris made his way to victory lane following his first Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod win Wednesday at Stuart Speedway. The Northern SportMods were first up with Blair Simmons and Morris on the front row. Morris took charge early with Dusty Masolini and Cam Reimers in tow. A caution with nine laps down bunched the field but Morris was too strong as he went on to the win, his first ever in the division. Second was Masolini, Brayton Carter third, Reimers fourth and Colton Nelson fifth. Next up were the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars with Zac Johnson and Miciah Hidlebaugh leading the field to the green flag. Brock Badger shot into the lead early with Hidlebaugh and Brandon Pruitt battling hard for second.
