Kaplan takes thriller at Stuart’s Clint Walrod Memorial

By Josh Reynolds  STUART, Iowa (July 27, 2022) – Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway had 125 cars in the pits for the Clint Walrod Memorial Wednesday night. Feature winners were Michael Hotze, Cam Reimers, Austin Kaplan, Cody Laney and Dylan Nelson. The first feature on the track was the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts with Hotze, Tyler Fiebelkorn and Kolby Sabin battling over the top three spots. Hotze stretched his lead out to just over a second and went on to the $1,000 feature win, his first in the division. Sabin came out on top in the battle for second with Fiebelkorn third, Jake Walding fourth and Ryan Brown fifth. Gilman is IMCA Modified winner at Stuart’s Bill Davis Sr. Memorial

By Josh Reynolds  STUART, Iowa (June 22, 2022) – One hundred and five race cars made their way to Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway for the Bill Davis Sr. Memorial on Wednesday night. Todd VanEaton led the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature until a lap nine caution came out and the field was reset. This let 15-year-old Rowdee Van Genderen take advantage of the restart to get out front and lead the first feature laps of his young career.  Van Genderen led and was pulling away when another caution slowed the field on lap 15. He would stay out front for one more lap, but getting a great drive off of the bottom was Josh Pruitt with Miciah Hidlebaugh in tow. Hidlebaugh made it to Pruitt’s door in turn four but the two kept things clean and it was Pruitt taking the win. Murty dominant in Whole Hog 50 repeat at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, IA (May 30, 2022) – It was 2021 all over again on night two Monday of the Whole Hog 50 at Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway as Dallon Murty repeated as the $5,000 winner of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event.  Dallon started outside his father Damon on the front row for the 50 lap feature and took control early, with Murty senior and Dustin Vis not far behind.  A yellow on lap 13 helped Jay Schmidt slide into third as the Murtys’ continued to pace the field. Vis was able to get back by Schmidt for third after the second and final caution on lap 22, and as the race wound down it was Dallon extending his lead over Damon. When the checkered flag flew it was Dallon taking the flag to flag win by almost two seconds over Damon with Vis third, Luke Lemmens fourth and Kelly Shryock fifth.  Dallon was already qualified to start the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. Shryock shines in IMCA Modified classic at Stuart’s Whole Hog

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (May 29, 2022) – The two-day Whole Hog 50 fired up Sunday evening at Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway. Feature winners for the night were Justin Kinderknecht, Trent Reed, Colby Fett, and Kelly Shryock. IMCA Sunoco Stock Car qualifying feature winners for Monday’s Whole Hog 50 main event were Jeff Mueller, Troy Burkhart and Damon Murty. IMCA STARS Mod Lites were up first come feature time in their Cornbelt Clash finale with Darrick Knutson leading the first time around. Randy Bryan quickly shot into the lead on lap two and set the pace through a series of cautions. Justin Kinderknecht marched from his eighth starting spot to grab the lead on lap 10 and that would be the money pass as he went on to the $500 win, plus a $100 bonus from Stealth Racing. Sabin starts IMCA winners’ parade at Stuart Speedway

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (May 22, 2022) – Kolby Sabin started the parade of IMCA feature winners Sunday evening at Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway. Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts were the first sanctioned division on the speedway with Elijah Hoyt and Mitchell Bunch pacing the field. Hoyt led early with Bunch getting by on lap four. Bunch held the top spot until Sabin cruised by on lap eight.  Tyler Fiebelkorn followed Sabin into second but couldn’t close the deal as Sabin went on to the win. Fiebelkorn finished second with Bunch third. Josh Pruitt and Jeremy Gettler brought the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars out with Gettler getting the advantage early on. Cautions on laps nine and 10 were the only thing slowing Gettler down as he led the distance to take the win. Stuart’s IMCA Stock Car Whole Hog 50 winner earns $5,000; Modifieds, Northern SportMods both race for $1,000 each night

STUART, Iowa (May 24, 2022) – The winner of Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway’s Whole Hog 50 special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars takes home the bacon May 29-30. Top prize is $5,000 while the minimum paid to start the second annual event has been increased this year from $400 to $500. The Whole Hog 50 winner also becomes an automatic qualifier for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational.  Heat races and qualifying features for Stock Cars are on Sunday, with all drivers making an ‘A’ main. IMCA STARS Mod Lites have May 27-29 Cornbelt Clash dates

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (May 23, 2022) – IMCA STARS Mod Lites race for $500 to win each night of their Cornbelt Clash tripleheader over the Memorial Weekend. Features Friday, May 27 at Marshalltown Speedway, Saturday, May 28 at Boone Speedway and Sunday, May 29 at Stuart Speedway all pay a minimum of $100 to start. Yoshimura bonuses of $250, $150 and $100 will be paid to top three eligible finishers on Sunday; hard chargers each night also receive a certificate for a STARS plated tire from Hooser. STUART, Iowa ­(May 10, 2022) – Drivers in four IMCA divisions are in the running for $1,000 top checks during a rare Monday show at Karl Chevrolet Stuart International Speedway.  The May 16 Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel sees Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods contend in $1,000 to win features.  Modified and Stock Car winners also earn Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility, respectively.  Mach-1 Sport Compacts complete the card.
