IMCA Midwest Madness Tour returning for June 26-30 run

WORTHINGTON, Minn. (June 7, 2022) – Drivers in five IMCA divisions see action on five consecutive nights in the upcoming Midwest Madness Tour.

Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars both race for $1,000 top prizes Sunday, June 26 at Minnesota’s Worthington Speedway; and at Iowa venues Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer on Monday, June 27; Buena Vista Raceway in Alta on Tuesday, June 28; Shelby County Speedway in Harlan on Wednesday, June 29; and at Stuart Speedway on Thursday, June 30.

Modified winners become eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational while Stock Car winners become B & B Racing Chassis All-Star qualifying eligible.

Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods race for $500 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $400 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $200 to win each night. 

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, regional, KMJ Performance State and tour points will be awarded. Stuart also gives track points. 

Point funds will be paid in all divisions. Modified and Stock Car tour champions both earn $1,000 shares of their respective point funds along with certificates good for 25 percent off Harris or Terminator chassis.

Racing starts at 7 p.m. at Worthington and Clay County, following 7 p.m. hot laps at Buena Vista, and following 6:30 p.m. hot laps at Shelby County and Stuart.

IMCA.TV affiliate Advantage Racing.TV broadcasts the Worthington, Clay County, BVR and Shelby County shows.

Smith starts new Kyle Suter Memorial win streak

ALTA, Iowa (July 3) – David Smith started a new streak Wednesday night at Buena Vista Race­way. Smith led the last eight circuits in topping the Kyle Suter Memorial for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at Alta. He’s now won the event “eight or nine times,” including a streak of five in a row from 2013-2017.  “This is always a good one to win,” said Smith, who banked $1,500 following the victory, also the fourth installment of the Arnold Motor Supply Midwest Madness Tour. “It’s getting harder to win any more. The competition is so good.” Pole starter Brian Blessington led early before giving way to Smith’s brother Devin. After a side-by-side battle, David pulled ahead following a restart with eight laps left in the 25-lapper. 28th annual Tiny Lund Memorial this weekend at Shelby County Speedway

HARLAN, Iowa – Shelby County Speedway rolls out the red carpet for six IMCA divisions at the 28th annual Tiny Lund Memorial Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26. Friday night action is in honor of the Dale Swanson Memorial and sees the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Late Models racing for $755 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods for $655 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $555 and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $155 to win.  On Saturday, the Modifieds race for $1,528 to win their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. Stuart’s Whole Hog IMCA Stock Car winner takes home $5,000

STUART, Iowa – The winner of Stuart Speedway’s Whole Hog 50 special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars brings home the bacon May 30-31. The inaugural special pays $5,000 and possibly a whole hog to win and a minimum of $400 to start. Heat races and qualifying features for Stock Cars are on Sunday, with all drivers making an ‘A’ main. Stock Cars will run heat races and last-chance qualifiers to fill the field on Memorial Day.  Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying features for the IMCA Modifieds pay $1,000 to win on Sunday and $1,500 to win on Monday.
