IMCA STARS Mod Lites have May 27-29 Cornbelt Clash dates

FORKSVILLE, Pa. – Aaron Benjamin has heard a lot of good things about Boone Speedway and the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. This will be the first year he gets to experience both. The Forksville, Pa., driver returned to the IMCA Modified ranks this season after an eight-year racing hiatus. A regular weekly at The Hill Speedway and in the NY-Penn Series, Benjamin didn’t need much convincing when crewman Robert Petrowski suggested they make the trip west to be part of America’s Racin’ Vacation.  “He’s been going to Boone for years and talked me into going out,” Benjamin said. “Racing at Super Nationals had been a dream when I ran IMCA in 2012 and 2013. MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – While it’s still going to be an event for the IMCA history book, the chapter on the upcoming Dale DeFrance Memorial just won’t get written when originally scheduled.  Featuring both the 500th and final race in IMCA Late Model Summer Series history and a Speed Shift TV Dirt Knights Tour program for IMCA Modifieds, the Marshalltown Speedway special has been postponed from May 7 to Tuesday, June 9.  “We remain committed to the health and well-being of everyone who is a part of race programs at Marshalltown Speedway, as a driver, crew member, spectator or track worker,” said promoter Toby Kruse. “We’ll follow guidelines or recommendations that are in place from the state for all weekly and special events.”  IMCA Late Model Ironman Darrel DeFrance will complete his perfect attendance streak in the Summer Series finale at his hometown track. BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 13) – Ricky Thornton Jr. raced to wins at the beginning and the end of a history-making week, Donavon Smith and Johnathon Logue became three-time champions while Nathan Ballard motored to his first title at the 2020 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.  In all, 834 cars – including 245 Modifieds and an event record 207 Stock Cars – saw action dur­ing a socially distanced week at Boone Speedway that also saw more than its share of rain and rescheduled race programs.
