Super Nationals IMCA Southern SportMod style: Kennedale to host inaugural event Sept. 8-10

KENNEDALE, Texas (June 10, 2022) – Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods will have a super event of their own this September. Kennedale Speedway Park hosts the Southern SportMod Super Nationals Sept. 8-10. Divisional title sponsor Smiley’s Racing Products is also sponsor of the inaugural event, which pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. “We have a ton of these cars around here and they do a great job showing up every week to support their local tracks so we wanted to have a special event like this for them,” said KSP promoter James Lopez. “Everything we get sponsorship-wise is going to go back 100 percent to the drivers.” The runner-up earns $1,500 with $1,200 paid for third, $1,100 for fourth and $1,000 for fifth. Defending All Star Shootout champion Pirkle prevails in Kennedale IMCA Modified feature

KENNEDALE, Texas (May 28, 2022) – His consistent finishes got Jacob Pirkle the 2021 All Star Shootout title. A convincing flag-to-flag run at the front of the field got him a $1,500 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature win in the 25-lap Shootout show Saturday night at Kennedale Speedway Park. “This is my home track, I started on the front row and I thought I had a lot to prove. Tonight was very good for us,” said Pirkle, who was running in heavy lapped traffic before halfway and was not challenged after the second of back-to-back restarts on lap 18. “I really wanted a win and tonight we got it. The lidlifter for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods moves to Thursday, May 26 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore. The event originally scheduled that evening at Grayson County Speedway has been canceled. Pirkle paces IMCA Modifieds at Showdown, feature win is sixth straight at Kennedale

KENNEDALE, Texas (Nov. 6) – Jacob Pirkle has to be sorry his season is over. Pirkle won his sixth straight IMCA Modified feature at Kennedale Speedway Park, topping the Saturday night Summit Racing Equipment Showdown main event. The checkers were good for $1,500. “The car was just hooked up,” said Pirkle, who had started fourth and took over in front following a restart midway through the 25-lapper. “We had a lot of lapped traffic but navigated through those guys.” Track champion Glen Hibbard was runner-up and Razor Chassis South Central Region champion William Gould ran third. All Star Shootout IMCA Modified win is career first for Wojtek at Kennedale

KENNEDALE, Texas (May 29) – The hugs and high fives that followed Fred Wojtek’s All Star Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts feature win stemmed from his third place finish in his qualifying heat Saturday at Kennedale Speedway Park. Wojtek caught William Gould for the lead 11 laps into the IMCA Modified main event, then outran Gould and Jacob Pirkle to the $1,000 checkers. “We weren’t too good in the heat. We changed a spring and ball joint and good gosh, the car was like a different car (in the feature). It handled really well after we made all the changes,” Wojtek said following his first win of the season, and first-ever win at KSP.
