Duffy declares Red, White and Blue victory at 141

(July 5) – Darin Duffy solidified his rankings in the Red, White, and Blue Series with his IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature win at 141 Saturday night. Duffy pulled away late in the contest to a $1,000 payday and most importantly, took over the lead in the series at 141. The feature kicked off with an unfortunate bang as a melee resulted in the front of the field. Thirteen cars were involved in the red-flag incident and point leader Benji LaCrosse, among others, was not able to continue. When the race restarted, Eric Mahlik found his way in front of the field with Duffy behind. Sean Jerovetz ran to the front after a three-wide pass for the lead including Mahlik and Duffy. BSB Manufacturing signed on as title sponsor for SportMod Race of Champions at Super Nationals

WELLINGTON, Kan. – BSB Manufacturing expanded its partnership role with IMCA again this season, taking on title sponsorship of the Northern SportMod Race of Champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. $4,000 is possible to win at 20th annual Hogan Memorial

VINTON, Iowa (July 6) – It’s billed as the most anticipated event of the year at Benton County Speedway and the 20th annual Hogan Memorial is a good bet to be just that. The Sunday, July 13 IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified main event pays $1,250 to win, another $50 for each of the 40 laps led, plus $250 to the leader at midway. VanderBeek repeats as big gun at Great American Stock Car Shootout

VanderBeek repeated as winner of the pre-holiday special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at Southern Iowa Speedway. The Thursday victory paid $2,000, $500 more than the 2013 checkers at Osky, and made VanderBeek eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Feature distance just right for David Smith at Buena Vista Raceway’s Suter Memorial

ALTA, Iowa (July 2) – From the vantage point of winner David Smith, the 25-lap distance for Buena Vista Raceway’s Kyle Suter Memorial was just right. Smith led the last 24 circuits and earned $1,000 for his Wednesday night IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victory at Alta. “I ran the very top of the track. There was just enough momentum on the top, which was starting to go away,” said Smith, who’d lined up behind pole starter Chris Ullrich and taken the lead with a pass inside. “I didn’t want any more laps.” Smith’s younger brother Devin, a contender for national and Arnold Motor Supply Northern Region rookie of the year honors, used lower lines in advancing 13 spots to second. “Any time you see us finish 1-2, it’s good. Deery Series returns to West Liberty for July 8 show

WEST LIBERTY, Iowa (July 3) – The Deery Brothers Summer Series makes its second of three visits this season to West Liberty Raceway on July 8. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. for next Tuesday’s $3,000 to win, minimum $300 to start IMCA Late Model show. Racing follows 6:30 p.m. hot laps. Lab testing confirms Mullen $10,000 richer

VINTON, Iowa (July 2) – Samples of the tires Mike Mullen used in winning the Clash at the Creek special for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds have passed testing conducted at an independent laboratory. The June 26 victory at Francis Creek paid $10,000. This was the second time this season tire samples have been sent for testing. IMCA officials indicated sampling will continue throughout the 2014 point season.
