Super Nationals tech inspection and other information

Tech inspection precedes practice, Sunday Night Tailgate BOONE, Iowa – Tech inspection, an open practice session, some music and a pretty awesome party are planned for Sunday, Aug. 31, the night before the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s get underway at Boone Speedway. A new tech inspection process has been announced for the 32nd annual event and beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday, drivers will receive tech inspection sheets and inspection group cards at the tech inspection trailer on a first-come, first-served basis. Drivers will be called over the PA system to the lineup board for staging and then sent to the inspection area in groups; drivers are encouraged to go to the tech trailer and get their inspection sheets and cards as soon as they and their race cars arrive at the speedway. Pre-tech opens at 10 a.m. Sunday for Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods only, the two divisions that begin qualifying on Labor Day. Nebraska State Championship special this Friday at Beatrice

BEATRICE, Neb. (Aug. 25) – Five IMCA divisions fill the Friday, Aug. 29 Nebraska State Championship card at Beatrice Speedway. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds race for $600 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are in the running for $500 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $400, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $300 and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $150. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded. Numerous prizes will be given to competitors. Entry fees after Aug. 26 are $40 for Modifieds, $35 for SportMods, $30 for Stocks and Hobbies and $25 for Sport Compacts. Pit passes are $25. Spectator admission is $12 for adults, $5 for kids and free for six and under. Gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. The Nebraska State Championships are promoted by S & J Promotions. Three IMCA Modified features at Aug. 29-31 East-West Clash

GILLETTE, Wyo. (Aug. 25) – Three $1,000 to win features for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds are on the program for Gillette Thunder Speedway’s 15th annual East-West Clash Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 29-31. All are 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded. Entry fees are $50 on Friday, $65 on Saturday and $75 on Sunday. Pit passes are $25 on Friday and Saturday, $30 on Sunday or $75 for all three days. Dow gets first win; Mielke, Vollbrecht get last lap wins at Riviera

NORFOLK, Neb. (Aug. 16) – The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts opened feature racing Saturday night at Riviera Raceway with Thomas Dow notching his first career win after leading start-to-finish and holding off Colby Kaspar and Brooke Fluckiger. TeJay Mielke topped the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature after passing leader Tracy Buck in turn three on the final lap. Nate DeSive finished third. The Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature saw four different leaders with Nelson Vollbrecht taking the lead on the last lap in turn three and turn four to edge Kyle Prauner for the win. Neil Bruns finished third.

Cota collects third straight win at Seymour Speedway

SEYMOUR, Wis. (Aug. 17) – Jeremy Cota, Benji Lacrosse and Barry Van Straten scored victories Sunday night at Seymour Speedway. Cota made his way around J. J. Andersen on the 10th lap of the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature to earn his third straight victory and fourth of the season. Andersen and Lucas Lamberies completed the top three. With help from a caution flag midway through the Budweiser IMCA Modified feature, LaCrosse was able to drive to his first win of the season. The restart erased Brad Lautenbach’s straightaway lead and allowed LaCrosse to drive the outside lane to victory. Lautenbach was second ahead of Erik Mahlik. Van Straten made his way through lapped traffic to pull away to his third win of the year in the Coors Light IMCA Stock Car feature. Chas Van Ooyen and Kyle Frederick completed the top three.

Becker and Charles pick up first wins of 2014 at Thunder Hill

(Aug. 16) – Justin Becker was able to hang on through a bunch of yellow flags to win his first BSB Manufacturing IMCA Modified feature of the season Saturday night at Thunder Hill Speedway. Becker, who started sixth in the main event, shot out to the early advantage and extended it to a considerable margin only to see it erased by several yellow flags. Becker met all challenges on the restarts to drive away to the win. A third generation driver piloted to his first win in the Belleville Motor Sports IMCA Northern SportMods. Austin Charles, son of Danny Charles and grandson of Tom Charles, put another good run together that lasted until the finish. Charles, who started seventh, was challenged in the late stages by Bryan Rigsby, but coming to the white flag Rigsby’s rear end gave out to bring out a green, white, checkered scenario. Luellen sweeps feature, points title at Stuart Speedway

Marcus Fagan, Clint Luellen, Logan Richards, Luke Wanninger, Andy Forcht and Jamie Schirm were feature winners on Plowman/Stanley Trenching Night at the Races and Brian Blessington, Luellen, Cody Cleghorn, Josh Gilman, Korbin Nourse and Shannon Anderson wrapped up track championships. Luellen earned his eighth win of the year on the way to Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod track championship honors. Luellen survived a late restart to hold off Jake McBirnie and Kody Havens to earn the feature win. Fagan was chased by Blessington and Jeff Anderson throughout the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature before driving to victory. Richards led the entire distance to win the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature ahead of Dean Loga and Cody Cleghorn. Cleghorn earned seven feature wins this season on his way to the track title. Jackson, McClure among winners at Raceway Park

JEFFERSON, S. D. (Aug. 17) – Five drivers raced to victory lane Sunday night at Raceway Park. Luke Jackson took the win in the KISS 107 FM IMCA Sport Compact feature. Jackson was chased to the end by Aaron Edwardson and point leader Ramsey Meyer. Lapped traffic came into play on the final lap of the MOPAR IMCA Hobby Stock feature. Making the right move and taking the win was Jake McClure followed by Ron Jensen and Andy Hoffman. Point leader Todd Boulware scored another win in the Skyline Casino IMCA Northern SportMod division. Boulware topped Darin Roepke and Karl Brewer in the final run down. Josh Ruschmann broke into victory lane for the first time this season in the Casey’s General Stores IMCA Stock Car feature. Trailing Ruschmann at the checkers were Jason Ward and Bo Lundquist. Bob Moore had the hot hand in the Jebro, Inc. IMCA Modified division, taking the win over Jason Schneiders and early leader Chris Mills.

Allen, Kaup, Witthuhn top action at Dodge City Raceway Park

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. (Aug. 16) – Austin Allen, Jeff Kaup and Dusty Witthuhn celebrated in victory lane Friday night at Dodge City Raceway Park. In the 20-lap IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified main event, Allen moved to the top of the point standings with his first feature win of the year. He earned the win in dramatic fashion, making a last lap pass of race-long leader William Nusser to snare the win. Current Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod points leader and reigning track champion Kaup took advantage of a late caution to snare his fourth win of the year in that 20-lapper. When leader Jamie French bobbled on the restart, Kaup raced to victory. After battling side-by-side with Josh Crombie for several laps, Witthuhn surged ahead on the 10th circuit en route to his first IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win of the season.
