Bruns gets first SportMod win at Off Road Speedway

(May 30) – The Saturday main event at Off Road Speedway that garnered the most attention featured a one-on-one duel between two Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod racers looking for a first-time victory. Dylan Pospisil and Troy Bruns battled before a caution during the 10th lap, and subsequent restart, presented Bruns with an option that helped him seize the lead and, ultimately, the win. Kenny collects first IMCA win and $5,000 at Route 66 Southern SportMod special

AMARILLO, Texas (May 30) – Brandon Kenny couldn’t have picked a better night for his career first Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMod feature win. Kenny led every lap of Route 66 Motor Speedway’s topless special Saturday evening, earning $5,000 for his main event efforts. The win came in a Ramirez Race Car he and Modified driver Cole Traugott built in his hometown of Woodward, Okla. RRC teammate Mike Roach finished a straightaway off the pace, taking runner-up honors despite a broken right front shock. Kent Lewis Sr. Classic is Saturday at Gator Motorplex

WILLIS, Texas – Gator Motorplex honors one of its own this weekend at the second annual Kent Lewis Sr. Classic. The veteran driver will be among the Southern United Sprint Series drivers running in the $1,000 to win, minimum $325 to start non-winged event on Saturday, June 6. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds are also on the card with the IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprints, along with Lone Star 600 Sprint Cars, limited modifieds, stock cars and pure stocks. Ruter races to Skip Rose Memorial checkers at I-35

MASON CITY, Iowa (May 31) – Ryan Ruter raced to another $1,000 payday ay I-35 Speedway, topping the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature in Sunday’s rescheduled Skip Rose Memorial. Ruter started the 20-lapper from the fifth spot and had the lead when the third circuit was scored. The race stayed green until a car spun and came to a stop in the first set of turns, forcing a green, white, checkered finish. Ruter pulled away to beat Jesse Hoeft to the finish by five car lengths. “We knew we had to get to the lead pretty quick,” said Ruter, who’d swept Frostbuster specials at Hancock County Speedway and I-35 in April. “Everything worked out for us.” Kelly Shryock started 11th and finished third. Quad City’s rescheduled Reinhart Memorial is this Sunday

EAST MOLINE, Ill. (June 2) – First place in the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature pays $1,500 at Quad City Speedway’s Sunday, June 7 Gary Reinhart Memorial. The 22nd annual special is a 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier and was rescheduled due to inclement weather from May 24. The main event pays a minimum of $125 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Belleville Motorsports North Central Region, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded for the draw/redraw show. Salina Speedway offers special ticket opportunity to Bombers fans

As a result of the final home game this season being canceled (May 30), the Salina Speedway will offer one free adult grandstand admission to any fan presenting a ticket to that game when arriving at the speedway ticket window on Friday, June 5. The night’s racing program will feature the BSB Manufacturing NeSmith Late Models, 1st Class Chassis IMCA Modifieds, Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars, Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Northern SportMods, Auto House Mod Lites, and Budweiser IMCA Hobby Stocks. Admission prices are $10 for adults, while kids 15 and under are always free. Seniors also get a discount of $5, while all military, both current and retired, also always get in free. BYERS, Colo. – Three sanctioned divisions see their first action of the season at Colorado Motorsports Park in Byers this Friday, June 5. Culminating a five-year rebuilding project, the lidlifter for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods sees racing start at 7 p.m. Pit gates open at 3 p.m., hot laps are at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and military, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and free for five and under. Hinton gets birthday win at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (May 31) – Jerry Hinton blew out the birthday candles and extinguished his Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod opponents Sunday at Stuart Speedway. Hinton started seventh and took over the lead on lap eight, after Colton Nelson slid high in the first turn. Kody Havens was second and Clint Luellen recovered from a lap one spin to finish third. Casey Greubel was a first-time winner in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, getting the best of runner-up Marcus Fagan and Josh Daniels in third. Josh Gilman had the fastest ride in the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature while 18th starting Luke Wanninger had the edge over Shane DeMey for second following a late restart. Austin Luellen scored another IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock victory. Jamie Schirm was second and John Watson took third. Dean Richards led from the fourth lap to the finish in the Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Logan Richards was second and third was Jacob Peters.
