Day of Stars at Five Mile Point features IMCA Atomicwraps.com Empire State Series

KIRKWOOD, N.Y. – Five Mile Point Speedway’s Day of Stars features a 25-lap, $500 to win feature for touring Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds. The second appearance at Kirkwood this spring by the Atomicwraps.com Empire State Series was postponed by inclement weather from May 1 to this Sunday, May 15. Pit gates open at 1:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 2:30 p.m. Hot laps begin at 3:45 p.m. and racing begins at 5 p.m. Grandstand admission is $14 for adults, $12 for seniors ages 65 and over, $10 for students ages 13-17 and free for 12 and under. Amazing Family Five-Packs are $40 and a limited number of indoor VIP seats will be sold for a $5 upgrade. Pit passes are $35. IMCA.TV releases 2016 “Where America Comes To Watch Races” coverage schedule  

SILVER BAY, Minn. – The second year of IMCA.TV, the Official Network of IMCA Racing, kicks it up a notch with an impressive schedule of 70-plus races from all over the United States and Canada with a number available included in Monthly Subscription. A refresh of the service is set for June 20. The primary focus of the service will be hardcore IMCA racing coverage including full shows and feature races. Fox builds on first season IMCA success with Modified, Stock, Northern SportMod awards

EL CAJON, Calif. – Building on a successful first season of IMCA sponsorship, Fox Shocks gives contingency awards in three sanctioned divisions again in 2016. The El Cajon, Calif., manufacturer awards product certificates in increments of $300, $250 and $200 to top three eligible drivers in each of the five regions for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, both IMCA Sunoco Stock Car regions and in national standings for the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods. Thornton dominates opening night at Stuart

Ricky Thornton Jr., Clint Luellen, Mike Nichols, Shannon Anderson and Jake Benischek took the wins on First State Bank Night at the Races. Dylan Book led the first three laps of the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature before Josh Gilman moved into the top spot. Gilman held the lead until a lap eight caution slowed the field. Gilman stayed at the front for two more laps, and that’s when Ricky Thornton Jr. took over. As Thornton Jr. was pulling away, a terrific battle for second was on with Tim Ward coming out on top. ABILENE, Texas (May 7) – Abilene Speedway continued to be very good to defending Sprint Series of Texas champion Dustin Woods. Woods led the last 19 of 20 circuits in winning Saturday’s main event for touring IMCA EMI RaceSaver Sprint Cars. “It’s always fun to race at Abilene,” said Woods, the fourth different winner in as many SST events so far this season. “I started outside the front row, which was a first at Abilene. WEBSTER CITY, Iowa – A midweek special at Hamilton County Speedway puts the spotlight on IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Stock Cars run for $2,000 to win and Hobby Stocks for $1,000 to win at the Tuesday, May 17 Central Iowa Stock Car Showdown. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded in both divisions. Clay County hosts Hobby Stock Spring Nationals

SPENCER, Iowa – Clay County Fairgrounds hosts the Spencer Office Supplies and H & N Chevrolet Buick-sponsored Hobby Stock Spring Nationals next Tuesday, May 17. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run for $2,000 to win, additional prize money for second through seventh place finishers, a $200 hard charger award from Weasy’s Bar and Grill and a minimum of $75 to start. Callahan rides high side to Dubuque Speedway victory

By Jerry Mackey DUBUQUE, Iowa (May 8) – Mothers Day featured Sunday night racing action at the Dubuque Speedway with a very smooth wide racing surface allowing the drivers to put on a very entertaining night of wheel-to-wheel racing action. Joel Callahan scored his second win of the young season in the Out Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Model division. Callahan fought off the constant challenges Luke Goedert in scoring the hard-fought win. With Callahan working the low side of the turns, Goedert was able to use the high line to pull alongside Callahan on lap 10. That move prompted Callahan to quickly move up to the high side and the remainder of the 25-lap feature saw Callahan stretch his lead. Goedert ran second ahead of Luke Merfeld. Thompson tops Sport Compact tussle at Raceway Park

By Bob Coney JEFFERESON, S.D. (May 8) – After two weeks of rainouts, Raceway Park welcomed its second night of championship action Sunday. In the KISS 107 FM IMCA Sport Compact division, Cody Thompson took advantage of a rare front row start to lead every lap of the main event. Ramsey Meyer came through the field for a second place finish. The race for third was one of the best battles of the night as Don Tank swapped positions with and finally defeated Tyler Thompson. The Car Quest IMCA Hobby Stock feature also had a flag-to-flag victor as David Miller kept the field at bay for the entire race. Andy Hoffman came out on top in the battle for second while Aaron Shearn was third. The third feature to hit the track was the 16-lapper for MOPAR IMCA Northern SportMods.
