Jet Racing marks 20th sponsorship season with IMCA Modified Central Region support

BEATRICE, Neb. – Jet Racing returns as title sponsor of the Central Region for Modifieds in its 20th season as an IMCA sponsor. The Beatrice, Neb., chassis builder supported special events drivers and then Stock Car and Hobby Stock regions before taking over the Modified regional role in 2012. Jet Racing is owned by four-time IMCA Modified national champion Johnny Saathoff and will provide a portion of the $6,000 point fund to be paid to top 10 drivers in the region including tracks in Arkansas, eastern Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma. The champion earns $2,500 and the runner-up $1,250, with $625 paid for third, $325 for fourth, $300 for fifth and $200 for sixth through 10th places. Boone anniversary special to be rescheduled

BOONE, Iowa – Boone Speedway has postponed its golden anniversary season special from this weekend to a July date to be determined. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks were scheduled to see their first action of 2017 at Boone on March 24 and 25 but a wet and cold forecast dictates otherwise.

Taylor scores two wins at Arkansas Spring Nationals

BATESVILLE, Ark. (March 17-18) – The story was similar for both nights of Batesville Motor Speedway’s Arkansas Spring Nationals. Jeff Taylor raced his way to the lead in both Friday and Saturday IMCA Modified features and led to the finish of each $1,250 to win event. “The car was good, the track was racy and I could go where I wanted to,” summarized Taylor, who had started third on opening night and sixth on night two. Eibach Springs continues awards program for six IMCA divisions

CORONA, Calif. – Another diverse group of IMCA drivers will receive post-season awards in 2017 from Eibach Springs. Farley Speedway to host race car show

IMCA Modifieds headline Tri-State Speedway’s 38th annual Kegger

POCOLA, Okla. – Top prize for IMCA Modifieds is $1,500 at Tri-State Speedway’s 38th annual Cecil Harlan Memorial Kegger Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25. The 2017 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier pays a minimum of $200 to start. NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader will be among the competitors this weekend at Pocola. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Jet Racing Central Region and Allstar State points, but no local track points, will be given. Menasco Racing Enterprises gives a $500 bonus to the driver making the long tow. Entry fee is $100. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and racing follows 6:30 p.m. hot laps both days. HAYS, Kan. – Five IMCA divisions are on the weekend card when RPM Speedway opens the 2017 season with its fifth annual Sunflower Classic special this Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25. Green picks up first Cotton Bowl IMCA Modified win

Hallas PAIGE, Texas (March 18) – Kevin Green took top honors in Saturday’s IMCA Modified main dedicating his first Cotton Bowl win to Harvey Cox, a long-time supporter of the Green family racing. Green got the lead coming off turn two, then went green to checkers using two different lines on each end to put some distance on Eric Tomlinson at the finish. “Mission accomplished,” exclaimed Green afterwards. “This was one mission I had this year, to get a Modified win here. We’ve run some here in the Modified and the SportMod, but never a full season.
