
Kay ends test drive in Farley’s victory lane
By Jerry Mackey FARLEY, Iowa (June 9) – Friday was a beautiful night for stock car racing at the all-new Farley Speedway. The GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Modifieds were the featured division with their 20-lap feature bringing the final checkered flag of the night. Justin Kay had worked on Richie Gustin’s no. 19G car in his Wheatland shop all day and decided with Gustin’s permission to take the Modified to Farley and test the changes made. The changes adapted well as Kay chased down race leader Matt Gansen and made the pass for the lead as the race passed the midway point. Kay went on to take the checkers ahead of Gansen and Austin Moyer. Jon Merfeld was the beneficiary of a blown right rear tire on Out-Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Model feature race leader Joel Callahan. The misfortune for Callahan came as the leaders raced to the white flag. Merfeld took the win ahead of Eric Pollard.
