Mach-1 renews IMCA Sport Compact title sponsorship through 2021 season

ABBOTT, Texas – Competitors in IMCA’s Sport Compact division will enjoy their association with Mach-1 Racing Solutions for another three seasons. The Abbott, Texas company has renewed its title sponsorship agreement for the 4-cylinder class and will provide a portion of $1,000 point funds to be paid to top 10 drivers in the division in 2019, 2020 and 2021. “We are excited to continue the support of a growing class that supports the vision of IMCA as well as economic racing,” said owner Gary Mach. The latest agreement takes Mach-1 through an 11th consecutive season as the divisional sponsor. Mach-1 began giving Sport Compact contingencies in 2009 and became the division’s first title sponsor in 2011. Abilene starts 2019 season with Feb. 15, 16 Ice Breaker

ABILENE, Texas – Abilene Speedway hosts its traditional season-opening Ice Breaker on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15 and 16. IMCA Modifieds run for $700 to win and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods for $600 to win each night. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $600 to win on Friday and for $750 to win their Lone Star Tour opener on Saturday. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Razor Chassis South Central and EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region, Texas State and track points will be awarded for both draw/redraw programs. IMCA amends Modified carburetor rules for 2019

VINTON, Iowa – IMCA has amended the carburetor rule for Modifieds for the 2019 race season. Specifically, that rule states one naturally aspirated two- or four-barrel carburetor only with Holley OEM or OEM replacement booster. Aerosol carburetor is allowed, however ICT boosters are not allowed in any division. “We work very hard to maintain the consistency of our rules and have to address the direction carburetors are going,” IMCA President Brett Root said. “We have to address the performance and associated costs.” “We will stop the progression of the carburetor rule until we’re convinced they are in the best interest of the division,” he continued. “We’re not going to have the carburetor reinvented every year.”

Third annual Arizona Tour slated Feb. 7-16 for IMCA Modifieds, Northern SportMods

QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. – IMCA Modifieds race for $1,500 to win while Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods chase $600 top checks each night of the third annual Arizona Modified Tour. All seven Modified features are 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events and pay a minimum of $150 to start. Northern SportMod features pay $60 to start. IMCA RaceSaver, POWRi partnership adds Sprint Car series, track sanctions in 2019

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car division will expand to new areas of the country in 2019, as part of a new partnership forged late this year with POWRi. Performance Open Wheeled Racing Inc. is headquartered in St. Louis and sanctions open wheeled divisions including midgets, micro sprints and 305 sprints.
