Stock Cars added to IMCA Manufacturers’ Cup contest

VINTON, Iowa – Another chassis building champion will be crowned in 2021 as the IMCA Manufacturers’ Cup contest expands to include Stock Cars. Top Modified builders will be recognized based on both national and regional point standings for a 13th consecutive year. Inaugural Stock Car awards will also be determined on the same basis. “The continued growth of our Stock Car division warrants a Manufacturers’ Cup competition of its own,” said IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “We will sanction weekly racing and special events for Stock Cars at nearly 90 tracks in 18 states and Canada this season, making chassis builders for those competitors deserving of cup recognition as well.” Chassis builders interested in being part of the Manufacturers’ Cup can contact Yoder at 319 472-2201 or by email at kyoder@imca.com.

First IMCA Late Model win for septuagenarian Siebert comes at JMS Spring Thaw

YORK, Neb. – Lester Siebert admits he was reluctant to go to the races because he knew he’d get hooked and want to race himself. He did go and sure enough, he got hooked. And nearly four decades later, Siebert was the winner of his IMCA Sunoco Late Model career-first feature at Junction Motor Speedway’s April 3 Mike Chapin Memorial Spring Thaw. “I was glad to be able to win,” said Siebert, from York and 70 years young. “I started racing an IMCA Late Model when they sanctioned them at Junction in 2019 and hadn’t won a race the last two years. IMCA.TV Weekly Racing bonuses added to track point fund checks

VINTON, Iowa – IMCA drivers who compete at tracks hosting events broadcast by IMCA.TV or any of its affiliates will see increased track point fund checks this fall. Twenty-five percent of all revenue generated by monthly IMCA.TV replay subscriptions will be added to 2021 point funds paid at those tracks. IMCA.TV Weekly Racing bonuses will be included in track point fund shares presented during the national awards banquet or mailed beginning the following week. “This bonus program is designed to support and reward the IMCA racer,” said IMCA President Brett Root. “We are able to do this because of our direct involvement with IMCA.TV,” he explained “We are able to allocate revenue in a way that other broadcasters can’t and the ultimate winners are the IMCA racers.” While IMCA.TV continues to build its network of affiliates, expansion of in-house production will further benefit drivers competing at sanctioned events and promoters of tracks that host them. Perris Auto Speedway grand re-opening this Saturday

This Saturday night, April 17, Perris Auto Speedway will re-open its doors after more than a year off due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The show will feature IMCA Modifieds in a 25-lap, $1,500 to win Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event. That will be the standard winner’s purse for 11 of the 12 PASSCAR/IMCA shows in 2021. The only race with different winner’s purses will be on the 25th anniversary Fan Appreciation Night on Oct. 16. Eagle cancels Ice Breaker Challenge

EAGLE, Neb. – Eagle Raceway’s Ice Breaker Challenge scheduled this Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17th has been canceled due to predictions of rain and cold weather this weekend. Track officials wanted to make a decision early on whether to continue with racing plans, move the event, or cancel since they have fans and teams that plan on making the trek to Eagle Raceway and so everyone can make other plans. Eagle kick the season off right with the Start Your Engines season opener presented by Nebraska Lottery and A1 Iron on Saturday, April 24.

Carter, Murty, DeVolder are Stuart IMCA winners

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (April 14) – Brayton Carter, Dallon Murty and Shane DeVolder were IMCA winners Wednesday at Stuart Speedway. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods came out first with the father/son duo of Bryan and Mitchell Morris on the front row. Bryan Morris led the first three laps with Carter blasting by to take over on lap four. It was all Carter from there as he went on to take the easy win. Brett Vanderheiden held on for second with Cam Reimers third, Dusty Masolini fourth and Garrett Nelson fifth. Next up were the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars with Miciah Hidlebaugh and Todd VanEaton leading the field to the green flag. Hidlebaugh went for a spin in turn one and Bob Daniels took advantage to lead the field through a couple of cautions over the first half of the race. McDaniel doubles down at Susanville

(April 10) – Ryan McDaniel doubled up on his IMCA Modified winning total as he earned his second straight feature win at Diamond Mountain Speedway Saturday evening. Hometown driver Riley Simmons placed second with third going to Chris Nieman. Nevin and Wade Kennemore were fourth and fifth in the finishing order. In the Karl Kustom Northern SportMods, Craig Nieman took care of business to earn his first victory of the season. Jimmy Ray Huffmon was the runner-up while Jason Emmot was third. United Rebel Sprint Series kicks off 2021 season at 81 Speedway

WICHITA, Kan. – The Drive to Zero POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing is slated to kick off its 16th season this Saturday, April 17. Outlaw Motor Speedway will host a complete night of racing and grandstand admission free. The April 16 feature winner will earn $1,000 with a $250 minimum paid to start. Heat race winners will earn $100. Five different winners, among them Joe Bob Lee, Johnny Kent, 2018 champion Alex Sewell, Noah Harris and Steven Shebester, have produced a balanced field coming into Friday night’s show.
