Wild Child Race Cars returns as title sponsor of Texas Lone Star Series for IMCA Stock Cars

BURLESON, Texas (Feb. 26) – Wild Child Race Cars is back in the saddle as title sponsor of the Texas Lone Star Series for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. The Burleson, Texas, chassis builder provides a portion of the $1,000 point fund to be paid to top 10 drivers in standings for the fourth annual series. The champion earns $250. Other point fund shares are $175 for second, $125 for third, $100 for fourth, $75 for fifth, $75 for sixth and $50 for eighth through 10th. Point fund checks will be presented during the national awards banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week from the IMCA home office. 10 dates set for Redline Racing Parts North Star Series

HERON LAKE, Minn. (Feb. 24) – The Redline Racing Parts North Star Series returns for a third season, with 10 dates at five different tracks in Minnesota. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are in action each night of the tour. Former track champ new to Kennedale promoter post

KENNEDALE, Texas – Darryl Campbell’s 15th season at Kennedale Speedway Park will be his first as promoter of the quarter-mile dirt track. Four IMCA divisions are in action for the first time in 2014 during KSP’s March 1-2 Spring Kick-Off. Smith continues Cocopah success with second Winter Nationals Modified sweep

SOMERTON, Ariz. (Feb. 14-15) – Different weekend, same results. Dylan Smith returned to Cocopah Speedway to complete his four-race sweep of Winter Nationals, earning $1,000 for his Friday night IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified win and $3,000 for the Saturday checkers. He’d also gone south to Somerton to win $1,000 features on Feb. 7 and 8. “On Saturday I matched the total I won the first three races at Cocopah so it was a pretty good night,” said Smith, who will spend part of that bounty fixing his hauler, which broke down last Thursday in Arizona. “We raced with a lot of good guys down here. I hope we can keep winning races when we start racing at home in Nebraska.” Smith won from seventh starting on Friday and from 10th on Saturday. The victories were his IMCA career 91st and 92nd. Hadan is RPM Auto Racing Promoter of the Year

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 17) – The last of the pictures were being taken this morning and promoter Roger Hadan was already being asked what made Eagle Raceway so successful. Hadan received the Auto Racing Promoter of the Year award for 2013, given by Racing Promotion Monthly, during RPM’s Speedweek national workshop in Daytona Beach. “Racing is something I’m passionate about. Receiving this award is a huge privilege,” said Hadan, who has operated the eastern Nebraska speedplant with wife Michelle since 2006. “The people who make their living running a race track are the real heroes. ABILENE, Texas (Feb. 14) – Opening weekend for the Texas Lone Star Series doubles as Abilene Speedway’s Ice Breaker special Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 21-23. Series feature events are on the card each night for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Top prize for Modifieds each night is $700. SportMods run for $600 to win, Stock Cars for $400 to win and Hobby Stocks for $250.
