$1,500 extra in cash up for grabs Friday at Marshalltown

By Jeremy Fox MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Jim’s Johns of Des Moines will sweeten the pot in four IMCA divisions this Friday night, June 20 at Marshalltown Speedway. Each of the heat race winners in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds will receive a free pit pass for the following Friday night races. In addition to this, the Jim’s Johns Challenge will be taking place and here is how it will work: Hobby Stock heat race winners have the option to fall to the tail of the feature and if they can win, it will be worth an additional $250. Fagan Wins Stew Hansen Dodge Stock Car Shootout

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 15) –Marcus Fagan took home the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car hardware on Stuart Speedway’s Stew Hansen Dodge Night at the Races. Fagan and Terry Pruitt drew the front row for the 25-lap feature. Pruitt held the lead at the start with Donovan Smith and then Fagan following behind in second. The top three stayed Pruitt-Fagan-Smith until a caution for Stofer on the frontstretch wall. Once the cars got going again, Smith led until Pruitt nosed ahead on lap 10 right before the caution flag flew again. Pruitt held the lead until Devin Smith passed him on lap 13. Devin led one lap and then Fagan found the grip he needed on the bottom to take over on lap 15. Qualifying format announced for 141’s $10,000 to win Clash at the Creek

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. – Ten thousand dollars is the top prize when IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds from across the Midwest and Canada converge on 141 Speedway for the Wednesday and Thursday, June 25-26 Clash at the Creek. A minimum of $750 will be paid to start the 50-lap feature at Francis Creek, a qualifying event for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Arneson up to challenge at Shawano

By Scott Owen SHAWANO, Wis. (June 14) – Lance Arneson proved up to the challenge in winning the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified Saturday at Shawano Speedway. Craig Bartz was back on the prowl early on, leading the first 12 laps. Bartz slipped just high enough the next time around to allow Lance Arneson and Marcus Yarie to slip past and into the top two spots. Yarie continued to pressure Arneson as the race ran on but Arneson was up to the challenge and scored the win. In the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature, Tracy Wassenberg led the final 19 laps after taking the lead from Tristin Peebles on the way to his third win of the year. Jordan Bartz pursued Wassenberg the entire race, but could not muster a pass. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature saw Travis VanStraten in control from the fifth lap on. Mike Schmidt passed Vern Stedjee to finish second. The win by VanStraten ended Kyle Frederick’s undefeated streak to start the season.

Big Wheel Night is Friday at Luxemburg

LUXEMBURG, Wis. – This Friday, June 20 is the night the kids wait for all year long at Luxemburg Speedway. It’s time for them to take to the track and show the fans and drivers the future of the Speedway. The regular five divisions will be in action with racing starting at 7 p.m. Gnome Games will be sponsoring the show. The first 400 kids will receive a Race into Reading Program coloring book. Gnome Games will have 50 participation medals for the Big Wheel contestants. Jay Matthias, Chris Budzban and Mike Dauphinais will have their cars on display before the races. Crane Cams gives IMCA Modified, Stock Car, Deery Series awards

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Crane Cams returns to national decal programs for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars this season, while continuing contingency awards for both divisions and the Deery Brothers Summer Series. The Daytona Beach, Fla., high performance parts manufacturer gives product certificates valued at $600, $400, $250 and $100 to the top four eligible drivers in each of the five Modified regions, both Stock Car regions and the IMCA Late Model tour competing with Crane ignitions. Top five eligible drivers based on point standings for each Modified and Stock Car region also receive product certificates in increments of $300, $250, $200, $150 and $100. Ward brings home the bacon at Greased Pig 4.0

AUBURN, Mich. (June 13) – After finding his way through lapped traffic, A.J. Ward found himself in victory lane Friday night at Tri-City Motor Speedway. Ward repeated as winner of Tri-City’s Greased Pig special for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds. The 4.0 version of the event put $1,014 in his pocket. Fourth starting Craig Vance dominated the first 20 laps of the event while Ward moved his way through traffic toward the front. Ward completed his pass for the lead on the 21st circuit; Vance attempted to make an inside pass in turn three but his car caught a rut and sent him into one of the track tires. Vance barrel-rolled twice before coming to a stop on his wheels. He walked away unhurt but the car did not fare so well. The incident bunched up the field for the final 10 laps. Herrick, Bond, Blowers top Lincoln County features

(June 14) – Doing their best to outrun the oncoming storm, Bryan Herrick, Kyle Bond and Charlie Blowers each earned trips to the winner’s circle Saturday at Lincoln County Raceway. Grabbing the lead when it counted the most, Herrick floated around the top five for much of the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature and eventually drove to the front on the white flag lap. Herrick had started in the fifth row. Finishing second after leading the first 13 laps was Robby Kosmacek. Driving his way to the front and then running away and hiding was Bond in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. Bond started in the fourth row and snared the lead on the fourth circuit. Following Bond through the traffic was Austin Davis, who was forced to settle for runner-up honors. Scoring his first-ever feature victory was Charlie Blowers in the Mach-1 Sport Compact division. Blowers started in the second row and complete the pass for the lead of Devin Bjorklund on the eighth lap.

Thornton makes it 8 of 10 at Canyon

Brendon Gemmill back in DCRP victory lane

(June 14) – Brendon Gemmill snapped a string of bad luck in dramatic fashion with a last-lap win in Saturday night’s 20-lap IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified main event at Dodge City Raceway Park. While the two-time track champion scored his first win of the year to become the sixth different Modified feature winner in as many events, Clay Money snared IMCA SportMod honors and Scott Drake bested the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. While Ponca City, Okla.,, native Gemmill raced into the lead on the third lap from his sixth starting position, he still needed some late-race dramatics to deny Jesse Smith his second win of the season.
