PASS honors champion Bard, other top performers at 2020 banquet

(Jan. 23) – The Pennsylvania Sprint Series found a way to hold its 2020 awards banquet – just as it had been able to race 28 times last year despite COVID-19 restrictions and concerns – and it honored 2020 champion Garrett Bard and other top finishers from that against-the-odds successful season. Bard, the Wells Tannery driver, also won the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car national championship, the KMJ Performance Pennsylvania State championship and the division title at four tracks the series frequents. Because the IMCA national banquet was canceled last year, PASS attempted to have IMCA Vice President of Operations Jim Stannard connect via Zoom to congratulate Bard, but technical gremlins interfered. Also honored in person were the other drivers finishing in the top five in the 2020 PASS standings: Doug Dodson of Middletown (second); Ken Duke Jr. of Selinsgrove (third); Landon Price of Fleetwood (fourth); and John Walp of Wapwallopen (fifth). QuickCar adds Mod Lites to IMCA awards program

LEBANON, Tenn. – QuickCar Racing Products was quick to add another division to its program of IMCA awards this season. Mach-1 Racing Solutions inked for 13th season as IMCA Sport Compact sponsor

ABBOTT, Texas – Drivers in IMCA’s Sport Compact division will race under the Mach-1 Sport Compact banner for a lucky 13th consecutive season. The Abbott, Texas, company provides a portion of the $1,000 point fund that will be paid to top 10 drivers in 2021 national standings for the 4-cylinder class. Yoshimura adds $5,000 to podium finishes at 10 IMCA STARS Mod Lite special events

CHINO, Calif. – A podium finish at 10 of the biggest IMCA STARS Mod Lite events on the 2021 schedule pays off big-time courtesy of Yoshimura Racing. Winebarger finds win column on Wild Wing Shootout night two

SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (Jan. 22-24) – The second time was a charm Saturday night for Collen Winebarger. Making his third visit to Arizona Speedway and second of what would be three Wild Wing Shootout starts of the weekend, the Oregon speedster delivered a convincing $1,000 IMCA Modified feature win at San Tan Valley. “When I drew the front row start for the second time, I definitely wanted to make something of it,” the new Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier said. “I had a really, really quick car and the track was very fast. ABILENE, Texas – The fourth annual Sniper Speed Lone Star Tour for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars travels to six tracks in Texas and Oklahoma, with a $5,000 check waiting for the champion. SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. – Three IMCA divisions runs each night of Arizona Speedway’s Feb. 12-14 Superstition Showdown, with the Sunday IMCA Modified winner taking home $5,000. All three Modified feature are Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers, with $1,500 paid to win Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13 events.
