Intercomp continues IMCA Modified, Stock Car support for 27th season

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – One of the most familiar names in the dirt racing industry continues its support of IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers again this season. IMCA Modifieds, STARS Mod Lites have Cedar County Fair date

TIPTON, Iowa – The IMCA Modified winner at the July 14 Cedar County Fair special goes home with a prize that’s better than a blue ribbon. The Wednesday night main event at Cedar County Raceway in Tipton is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier, paying $2,000 to win, a minimum of $130 to start and $60 tow. IMCA STARS Mod Lite are also on the card, racing for $250 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and KMJ Performance Iowa State points will be awarded. There is no entry fee and pit passes are $30. Pit gates open at 3 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Admission to the fairgrounds is $10 for adults and $5 for kids; grandstand admission is free.

Online registration, reservations for pit stalls start for 39th annual IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Online registration is now open for the 39th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The Sept. 6-11 Super Nationals is guaranteed to be the biggest, best and richest in event history. The form for pre-registration can be found at www.imca.com and www.raceboone.com under the Super Nationals menu. Drivers who do not already have a MyRacePass account can create one when they go to that link. Registration fee is $50 for Late Models, $40 for Modifieds, $25 for Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, Mod Lites and Northern SportMods, and $15 for Sport Compacts. Drivers must also pre-register to reserve pit stalls and to compete in the Sept. 4 and 5 Prelude at Boone Speedway. Pit stall application links are on Super Nationals menus on both IMCA and Boone Speedway websites as well. The Prelude and each night of Super Nationals will be broadcast by IMCA.TV.

Buchanan County Fair IMCA wins to Simpson, Murty

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (July 6) – Chris Simpson and Dallon Murty kicked off the Buchanan County Fair with $1,000 IMCA feature wins Tuesday night. Simpson, already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, made it look easy in the 25-lapper for IMCA Modifieds at Independence Motor Speedway. From his pole position start, Simpson pulled away early and then survived a pair of cautions to score the win ahead of Mike Burbridge. Joel Rust came from a mid-pack start to finish third ahead of Troy Cordes and Derrick Stewart in the 26-car field. Murty took top honors in the 20-lap thriller for the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. National Guard recruit White has former track champ lined up to take over IMCA Hobby Stock

WEST FARGO, N.D. – After Alyssa White enlisted in the National Guard, the question came up as to who would take over behind the wheel of her IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock. By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (July 2) – Dave Eckrich proved the fastest in a field of 27 IMCA Sunoco Late Models, earning $1,000 for his Friday night Iowa Corn Growers Association Drive For Five qualifying feature win. Ron Klein and Eckrich drew front row starts for the 25-lapper, with Klein out ahead of Eckrich and Jay Johnson after a couple early restarts. Eckrich used his momentum off the top of the track coming out of turn four to take the lead on lap two. The pace Eckrich set put him into lapped traffic on lap nine, which allowed Klein, Gary Webb and Johnson to close in. Disaster struck fourth running Johnson on lap 11 as he spun under the flag stand and collected eighth running Logan Duffy.
