Reimers sails to rich Captain of the Creek checkers

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (Aug. 19) – Cam Reimers sailed to the $10,000 checkers in the Captain of the Creek feature for IMCA Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods at 141 Speedway. Then he enjoyed some more Wisconsin hospitality, signing autographs and sampling barbeque in the pit area at Francis Creek along with several hundred new friends. The outside front row starter led all 50 laps of the Thursday night main event, keeping Jayden Schmidt in second most of the distance before holding hard charger Elijah Koenig at bay the last four times around the track. After back-to-back cautions on lap nine, Reimers and his closest challengers ran in traffic much of the night as the race stayed green to the checkers. “It’s awesome. It was a really good race,” he said. “I didn’t want to give the lead up early. My tires were pretty tired at the end of the race. I didn’t know if Jayden had gotten by me if we’d be able to catch back up.” A DNQ in his first visit to 141 two [Read More]

Clark aims for Sprint win in sixth state in return to Eagle, RaceSaver Nationals

HAMERSVILLE, Ohio – Justin Clark already owns IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature wins in five different states this season.  He’s hoping to add a sixth state to that list when he returns to Nebraska’s Eagle Raceway for the RaceSaver Nationals Sept. 2-5.  From Hamersville, Ohio, Clark has won 13 times, in his home state and in Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. With 100 percent chance of rain close to home, he made the 15-hour tow to Nebraska in mid-July and won his heat race before Eagle got washed out as well.  “Our goal at the beginning of the year was to race for national points. We don’t usually start racing too early in Ohio and Indiana and had to travel to do that,” said Clark, second in national standings to Texan Marcus Thomas for most of the season. “I tell people that you don’t know how good you are until you race with different people to see how good you stack up.” Through 29 starts, he’s stacked up pretty well. Beau knows to be the best, you have to race with the best

SAVOY, Texas – The much-traveled Beau Collins will travel back to Boone Speedway in September with a goal he knows is easier set than accomplished: Making the Saturday night main event at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.  From Savoy, Texas, and the defending IMCA Modified track champion at Grayson County Speedway, Collins has spent much of the 2021 season racing around the Razor Chassis South Central Region, complementing Southern Oklahoma Speedway starts with outings at Bells, Abilene Speedway, Boyd Raceway, Heart O’ Texas Speedway and Kennedale Speedway Park. “We like to travel around and not stay tied down to one track It’s fun to race at different tracks further away from home and we race with William Gould a lot,” Collins said. “If you want to be the best, you’ve got to race with the best and a lot of the best drivers are in Modifieds.” Collins got his start in go karts at the age of six. New bleachers, water balloons, Sprint Cars all part of IMCA RaceSaver Nationals

EAGLE, Neb. – New bleachers and water balloons lead up to the ninth annual IMCA RaceSaver Nationals. $5K possible for 16 different IMCA Modified drivers Friday at Lee County

By Brian Neal  DONNELLSON, Iowa – The inaugural Hinkle Auto Sales Drive For 5 finale for IMCA Modifieds is set for this Friday, Aug. 20 at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson. A $5,000 payday is up for grabs for 16 drivers but $2,000 is guaranteed to any other driver who isn’t qualified. In 2020, promoters Brian and Marcie Gaylord decided to try a Drive For 5 mini-series for IMCA Sunoco Late Models. With the success it generated, they decided to do the same mini-series for IMCA Modifieds for the 2021 season.  How it worked was there were seven qualifying nights scheduled and a driver had to race in all but two of those events to be eligible for a $5,000 payout in the finale. Mother Nature claimed one of the qualifying nights, leaving only six race events being run. Which meant any driver who ran at least four of those nights is still eligible for a shot at $5,000. Sixteen drivers emerged from the group that has a chance at 5K on Friday and those drivers are Michael Long, Cayden Carter, Dennis [Read More]
