We’re starting to get a feel for the car. We’re definitely going in the right direction with it.” Now a senior at Godley High School, Clark was a 14-time winner last year, with half of those victories coming in his final 13 starts.  Those checkers, and another seven top-five [Read More]

BOONE, Iowa (March 17, 2022) – The proof is in the numbers: The biggest event in dirt track racing has a big economic impact not only for the Boone area but for the State of Iowa.  The IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s brought a record 909 race cars and tens of thousands of fans to Boone Speedway for its Sept. 6-11, 2021 run.  A study compiled by the United States Motorsports Association and Washington & Jefferson College and released today determined the 39th annual event resulted in an economic impact of nearly $61 million, along with 609 local jobs and a corresponding $16.8 million in local earnings. “We had this study conducted because we knew Super Nationals has had a major economic impact on the City of Boone, Boone County and the State of Iowa but did not realize the impact was of this magnitude,” said IMCA President Brett Root. “The goal had been for the economic impact study to provide for infrastructure spending, to continue to improve the venue and continue making [Read More]

IMCA Northern SportMods return to Quincy’s Adams County Speedway

QUINCY, Ill. (March 16, 2022) – The green flag waves again this spring at Adams County Speedway, where IMCA Northern SportMods join Sunday night race programs. I started selling fuel, then did tech and did staging,” he said. “My family considers this our home track and it will be family run. My wife, two daughters and three of our grandchildren will work here.” While work on the racing surface continues, a new electronic scoring system and improvements to fencing will be completed before opening night of the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season on April 10. Power lines in the pit area will also be moved underground where they won’t be a potential hazard to tall haulers.  Northern SportMods last ran at Quincy in 2019. Their [Read More]
