Sept. 3-4 Prelude sets stage for 40th IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 25, 2022) – Drivers in five IMCA divisions will get some important racing laps in, while drivers in a sixth will crown a champion during the eighth annual Wild Rose Casino Prelude at Boone Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 3 and Sunday, Sept. 4. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds race for $1,500 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $1,000 to win and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts for $250 to win on Saturday while Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods run for $750 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $400 to win on Sunday. Modified and Stock Car winners become eligible for their respective All-Star Invitationals later in the week. Travels take James to victory lane at Southern Oregon’s Rayburn Classic

MEDFORD, Ore. (Aug. 19, 2022) – His latest finish in a self-described “pretty dang good year” also turned out to be a Friesen Performance IMCA Modified career-best payday for Bricen James. The much-traveled James banked $5,500 for his win at Southern Oregon Speedway’s 55-lap Bruce Rayburn Classic. The checkers were his 10th of the season, with those wins coming at seven different tracks in three states. “We kind of went everywhere this year. Becerra, Carter cash in on finale night

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (Aug. 19, 2022) – A lot of money was up for grabs at the Lee County Speedway Friday night, in the Drive For 5 finale for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Drive For 3 finale for Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. Cayden Carter and Andy Eckrich earned the most passing points in their heat races to lead the field to green in the B & B Propane IMCA Modified Photo Daddy 50-lap feature. Carter grabbed the lead over Austen Becerra and Eckrich. Becerra followed in Carter’s tire tracks. The duo entered lapped traffic on lap 14, which Becerra used to take the top spot away from Carter on lap 15. Action was slowed for the first time on lap 17 for debris and Carter slid past Becerra after the restart to gain the lead back. (Aug. 20, 2022) – With just two “memorial” nights of racing remaining to wrap up the 2022 racing season at Off Road Speedway, the Lynn Langenberg Memorial night on Saturday, which includes Championship Night hardware for those drivers at the top of the points lists in each of the four divisions, and the Bob Haase Memorial celebration on Sept. 3, three drivers made their first appearance in victory lane as feature winners, with Cory Dumpert the only repeat winner. Derek Sehi led a “Neligh sweep” of the first three places in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature, leading most of the race while Cameron Wilkinson, Nate Desive, Tejay Mielke and others competed for second place behind him. Ultimately, with no cautions forcing restarts after the first few laps, Sehi wasn’t threatened until Cameron Wilkinson, who finished second, closed on the outside during the final lap. Mother Nature doesn’t stop season championship night at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 20, 2022) – It was season championships presented by Casey’s at the Boone Speedway Saturday night. Mother Nature tried her best to spoil the evening’s festivities but she didn’t succeed. The great track prep workers rolled it back in and racing went on as planned, although the green flag dropped an hour and a half later than scheduled. With the time factor taken into consideration, the heats were dropped, and “B” features were run to determine final qualifiers for the features that had the top 20 in points locked in. The IMCA STARS Mod Lites ran their 20-lap feature first. Joel Huggins grabbed the immediate lead from his outside front row starting spot and never looked back. He won going away at the checkers. Bryan Zehm finished a distant second and Randy Bryan was third. This was Huggins’ fourth feature win of the year and he is the unofficial 2022 track champion.
