More cold cash on the line for Stock Cars at Feb. 17-18 Abilene IMCA.TV Ice Breaker

ABILENE, Texas (Feb. 2, 2023) – IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers have another 1,000 reasons to get Abilene Speedway’s IMCA.TV Ice Breaker on their early-season race schedule. 

The winner’s share of Friday, Feb. 17 and Saturday, Feb. 18 main events for The Class Too Tough To Tame have been upped by $500, so both events boast $1,500 top checks and make the winning drivers eligible to qualify for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. 

Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $1,200 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility both nights, while features for Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods pay $1,000 to win and the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts $350 to win. 

Start money is $100 for both Modifieds and Stocks, $75 for SportMods and $35 for Sport Compacts. 

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, GRT Race Cars South Central and EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region, Texas State and track points will be awarded for both draw/redraw programs.

The Thursday, Feb. 16 open practice is from 6-9 p.m. Pit passes are $20 that evening and grandstand admission is free. 

Pits open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:45 p.m. both days with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing to follow. Pit passes are $35 and spectator admission is $12 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and free for ages five and under.

ABILENE, Texas (Aug. 17, 2023) – A pair of All-Star Invitational qualifying features are on the Saturday card at Abilene Speedway. The Aug. 19 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature pays $1,000, the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature $750, making those winners eligible to qualify for the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational, respectively. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, Texas State and track points will be awarded. Pit passes are $30. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. Hot laps are at 7:30 p.m. with racing to follow. Both All-Star races are sponsored by Snappy Lube of Abilene.

Abilene hosts 26th annual IMCA Southern Challenge

ABILENE, Texas – Two thousand dollars is the top prize in IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod features at Abilene Speedway’s Friday and Saturday, Oct. 16 and 17 Ryan Bard Memorial Southern Challenge.     The Modified feature is a qualifier for the 2021 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and pays a minimum of $300 to start.      Both the Stock Car and SportMod features pay a minimum of $200 to start. Mach-1 Sport Compacts run for $600 to win and $100 to start their main event. The Texas Sprint Series is also on the Saturday card. Pit gates and the grandstand open at 3 p.m. and rac­ing starts at 7 p.m. both days. Adult grandstand admission is $12 on Friday and $15 on Saturday. Kids ages 6-12 get in for $5 and five and under are free both nights. Military with ID are $10. Ogle, Poor, Fain, Leasure score IMCA Southern Challenge wins at Abilene

ABILENE, Texas (Oct. 16) – Vince Ogle figured he’d finished every position but first in all the years he’s been running Abilene Speedway’s Ryan Bard Memorial Southern Challenge. He led all 30 laps of the IMCA Modified feature at the 27th annual event to get that first win and $2,500 Saturday night.  “I’ve been trying to win this race for 25 years and I’m pretty sure I’ve finished everywhere except first,” he said. “It’s a really awesome feeling to finally win it. I was beginning to think it wouldn’t happen.
