KENNEDALE, Texas (July 4) – After third- and second-place showings in his previous IMCA Modified Red River South Tour starts, Cody Leonard stood on top of the podium Saturday at Kennedale Speedway Park.  Leonard caught Chris Elliott late in the Independence Day 25-lapper for the $1,000 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying victory.  “We’ve had some good runs the last couple of nights,” the young Texan acknowledged. “After we missed opening night, we started 12th and finished third on Thursday at Bells and exceeded our expectations Friday at Waco to finish second. We’ve gained one spot each night and we’re really happy with the ways things are going.” Leonard had made just one previous IMCA Modified start at KSP, finishing fifth there last summer. KENNEDALE, Texas – The final checkered flags of the season fly Nov. 5 and 6 at Kennedale Speedway Park, where four IMCA divisions are on the 15th annual Summit Racing Equipment Showdown card. Qualifying for IMCA Modifieds, Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars starts Friday, Nov. 5. The Modifieds and Southern SportMods both race for $1,500 top checks and the Stock Cars for $1,000 to win on Saturday, Nov. 6.  The Modified winner becomes eligible to qualify for the 2022 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational while the Stock Car winner becomes eligible to qualify for the 2022 B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational.  Mach-1 Sport Compacts run for $200 to win on Friday.  Early entry for Modifieds and Southern SportMods is $60 and $50 for Stock Cars if paid by Nov. 3, with an additional $20 charged after that date.
