20 already on ballot for 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational

VINTON, Iowa – While attention is currently focused on the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational, 20 IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified drivers have already raced their way onto the ballot for the 2014 event. Ricky Alvarado owns a pair of qualifying wins on the EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour. Winners of the highest paying events thus far were Benji LaCrosse in the Night of 10,000 Stars and Kyle Strickler at the Night of 1,000 Stars. David Murray Jr. took the checkers on night two of the Stampede special at Dodge City Raceway Park. Mark Carrell became vote eligible by winning the Dancin’ Bare Topless 100 at Sunset Speedway. Governor’s Cup honors at Dacotah Speedway went to Robert Hellebust. Jeremy Shank topped the Northwest Modified Nationals at Grays Harbor Raceway. His Nor-Cal Series win at Petaluma Speedway made Brian Cass vote eligible. Todd Dart was the $1,000 feature winner at a Thunderhill Raceway weekly show. Deery Series headlines opening night at Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 27) – The winner of the next Deery Brothers Summer Series event will also be the first champion crowned at the 2013 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The IMCA Late Model tour headlines the opening night program at Boone Speedway on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2. The feature pays $3,000 to win, plus a bonus of $30 for each of as many as 50 sanctioned starts made during the weekly point season, and a minimum of $300 to start. All regular tour procedures will be followed at Super Nationals: Twenty-four cars will start the fea­ture and take the initial green flag two-wide. Qualifying races are also on the Monday ticket for Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods. One-way radios required in all Super Nationals divisions

BOONE, Iowa – One-way radios will be mandatory for all drivers in all divisions competing at the Sept. 2-7 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Drivers have the option of using either the RACEceiver Fusion 1600, which will operate on Channel 300, or Nitro-Bee, which will operate on Channel 299. If they do not already own such a device, both makes will be available for purchase on Manufacturers’ Row throughout the week.

Chevrolet Performance adds to bonus program with new crate engine prizes at Super Nationals

GRAND BLANC, Mich. – Chevrolet Performance complements its established bonus program by awarding new motors to champi­ons or top-finishing crate engine drivers in the Modified, Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod main events at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Ca­sey’s. “Weekly track championship bonuses have become a staple of the Chevrolet program but the anticipation is really high for the 602 and 604 crate engine giveaways during the upcoming Super Nationals,” noted IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “In combination with Karl Chevro­let, we’ll award no less than five complete crate engines during the Saturday night program in Boone and make the infield an even more exciting place than it already is.” The engines of main event winners in all three divisions will be sold during the auction that follows the Saturday program at Boone Speedway. Tech inspection, practice, party planned for the Sunday before Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Tech inspection, an open practice session, some music and a big party are in the works for Sunday, Sept. 1, the night before the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s get underway at Boone Speedway. Pre-tech opens at 10 a.m. Sunday for Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods only, the two divisions that start qualifying on Labor Day. Tech inspection ends at 4 p.m. Pit gates will open at 4:30 p.m. for the 5 p.m. practice, which is open to all divisions running at Super Nationals. Admission is $10. The practice session will be followed by a complimentary chili supper, complete with beverages, for everyone who purchased pit admission. The rock and roll band Helforstout, based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, plays from sundown to 1 a.m. A stage will be set up on the speedway grounds for fans to take in the live music performance at no charge. More than 300 drivers from across the United States and Canada are already pre-entered for the 31st annual Super Nationals.
